The road to Meringue proved a difficult course and tough to navigate for a stressed-out Squeeks. An escort quest would be plenty painful enough since dark chocolate bunnies, wolves, and limgas attacked in packs. If Brit didn't have burn damage embedded into her sword, then she and Gemi would have been done for long ago. Brit had veered off track over a dozen times, much to Squeeks insistence to stay on the shining yellow path. Because of this, she attracted even more trouble than necessary.

Brit ran for her life laughing as Squeeks clung to her black jumper from her right shoulder. Gemi ran a little further ahead so Brit could better protect the young girl. On one of her random off course decisions, Brit had wandered into an alpha Limga's cave den. Bigger than a horse with six hairy legs and two giant heads with slobbering jaws they wanted to do nothing more than gnaw on Brit.

Alpha variants of creatures, beasts, and even bosses spawned as rare as the rarer varieties. As a subspecies of the main creature, they could be told apart from others by name, size difference and they oozed black steam. They also happened to be far more aggressive.

Limga's, not made from chocolate like the other inhabitants of Truffle woods proved a deadly foe for Brit. In between sprints, Brit would bounce between running and landing consecutive hits on the towering beast. Crits and burn damage had whittled away its health to less than half throughout the ten-mile trek. At level five the beast proved more than a feat for a level two Brit who had been running for several hours. She was not the best runner, and her direction skills sucked.

"I smell a pack of dark bunnies approaching from the left of us Miss Brit," squealed Squeeks as he caught a glimpse of red eyes darting through trees and bushes.

Gemi attracted more creatures than anyone would have thought; it began to look like the entire forest wanted her. The fact the beasts and creatures ventured near the caramel chocolate path during daylight hours certainly had something to do with the quest, as otherwise, they wouldn't be so willing.

"How many?" gasped Brit as her heart felt like it would burst from her chest and her legs felt like hot iron. Behind her large thuds and grunts could be heard and the odd clasping of jaws as the Limga attempted to bite.

"Four," replied Squeeks as the dark bunnies darted out from the brush and launched themselves into the air.

"Ughhh! To biscuit hell with you chocolate freaks!" raged Brit as she swung her sword and deleted the bunnies in one fell swoop. "And you!" she raged more as she turned her head to look at the drooling Limga. "You're getting on my skin!" rage bar overflowing, Brit skidded to a halt and turned to face the alpha.

A towering behemoth ran at Brit as she gripped Tenderiser with both hands. Alpha Limga charged Toxic breath in one head and tried to bite Brit with the other head. She dodged to the right with a simple roll and almost sent Squeeks flying off. Avoiding both attacks, she drove her sword up into the beast. From chest to tail she ran with the sword as damage numbers soared along with crits and fire damage. The Limgas health depleted faster than a bag of carrots in Squeeks' little paws.

Holding on with a shred of health the Limga turned on Brit snarling as it lumbered about and was ready to keel over.

"You go away now, Gimgar!" bellowed Brit as she leapt into the air and struck the beast with the final blow.

Out of breath but happier now that the alpha had been defeated Brit fell to her knees. She breathed a sigh of relief and looked up to the sky that she loved to gaze at before then wiping away the sweat from her face. All of the exp accumulated from the chocolate horrors of the woods and the Limga boosted Brit to level three. If not for the alpha she would have needed another half a bar of experience so Squeeks could hardly complain about the outcome.
