Players in Lunthoria going about their business paid no mind to Split or Luke and for the most part, they forgot they even existed after the duel. Some, however, paid a little more attention. Players who knew better, who knew how Avilien worked. Players that had witnessed a next level battle beyond their understanding and capabilities. Mails were now firing all across the Tutorial Islands to friends and relatives about Luke Grey and within the mail, contents included holo footage of the fight.
Unknown by both Split and Luke the fight had been recorded multiple times over and sent out en masse. For better or worse the fight gained swift popularity on the Avilien forums and proceeded to pick up speed after only five minutes of being uploaded. Eager to get out of the town, for now, Luke, accompanied by Split, Nebs and Quinn left through the towns open iron gates and out onto an old country road.
Fields in every direction filled with small forest areas, ponds, rivers, and grazing beasts smelt like a great adventure. In the mix of it, chasing down a pack of huge grenzle were two-fanged woolly beasts. They attacked anything near them and sent green numbers spilling out onto the ground. While on the road surrounded by small drystone walls, the beasts of Avilien wouldn't venture close, so Luke and company were safe from battle.
The winding road the boys stood on continued into the distance cutting between roaming hills and jagged rocks until it snaked its way to the white-walled port of Sewen, a port where adventures went for their last question Lunthoria before then travelling to the next set of islands.
Sitting down on the wall, both Luke and Nebs remembered the first day they ever met one another and how similar that moment was back then. Quinn feeling slightly more comfortable danced a little jig on the wall and daydreamed about what was to come. Luke and Split took their time to reacquaint with one another since years had flown past them. Luke told Split all the events that went down in his town before the update for Avilien went live. He told him about the government, the Court of Bones, the guild of Daggers, and about his dad.
Like a wide-eyed child, Split absorbed every detail, he gobbled it down and clung to every word Luke told. Hours passed by before Luke even finished his tale, but he was glad to get it off his chest and to have someone with two legs which he knew hear it.
"I've been talking way too much. You've heard my tale, so what's the deal with you Rikon, or Split I should call you now?" asked Luke as he grabbed hold of Quinn before he fell off the wall.
"What do you mean sire?"
"It's been two years for you in Avilien, right? Your name is red and my guides told me you could only get a red name by deleting players. You don't appear to have a game guide of your own either," quizzed Luke.
In the years that Luke had known Split online, he had never been one to be sad, down, or unhappy. Content with all, he loved to battle, loved his coffee, and loved trying to flirt with every girl. Better known as the hyperactive druid, Split was about as calm as Luke had ever witnessed. Or crushed, as Split's face changed. With the use of his holo watch Split went into a subsection of skill where he had allocated points into deception. A toggle option allowed him to change his name from red to white or to blue.
Changing his name back to the original blue colour that it was meant to be Nebs' nose twitched as Split's smell, and aura had changed. A smell he would remember to help better distinguish against others using that skill.
"It is only fair that I now tell you my tale as you have unburdened yourself, your majesty." Split took a deep breath as Quinn snuggled into Luke's arm and snored.
"The first month inside Avilien was pure anarchy. Governments and world leaders amassed people and attempted to take over Avilien without having a clue what they had even stepped into. Of course, it didn't go well. They were wiped out by the Dawn and the Swarm. Other players battled so fiercely amongst themselves in the starter towns that the factions of Aviliens even intervened there and purged the landscape."
