The bang echoed, bouncing off the walls and my ear drums causing a ring to sound off in my head. My body was glued in place, only able to stare at Colten who clung onto the door with an iron grip. He attempted to shut it, only for Hudson to simply place a hand to his shoulder, forcing Colten's knees to give out.

Colten grasped his stomach. Bright red blood seeped through his fingers, dripping to the floor in his hunched over stance.

His face was one that would haunt my dreams, it twisted with unbearable pain and fear that I had never seen on a real person.

I lept to my feet, dropping everything in my hands and tried to rush over to him, tripping over my own damn feet in the process. I could have sworn my lips were moving, yelling his name over and over, but I couldn't hear a thing.

I was so close to touching him, to holding him and bringing him to my chest before Hudson placed the end of the cold barrel to my temple. The gun vibrated as he clicked it back, loading the chamber.

All I could do was watch as Colten fell to the ground, curled up in a ball, clutching his abdomen. His face hardened as he looked up to us, showing a darkness in his eyes I had never seen.

"Fucking hurt her and I'll kill you." Colten snarled, attempting to bring his body back to a stand - but that was never going to happen.

Everyone in this room knew that.

"Shut up, Colten!" Hudson snapped, pressing the gun further into my skin.

"Hudson, just let me help him and I'll go wherever you want." I pleaded, my hands shaking and tears cascading down my cheeks.

"Harley, don't you fucking dare." Colten tugged at his body again, this time with more force and determination, clinging to the doorknob until he was somewhat standing upright. "You fucking cocksucker. We were friends. I fucking trusted you."

Hudson didn't look away from me and I refused to look at him. I kept my eyes trained on Colten, watching his pain grow into rage, burning in his brown eyes with every ounce of blood that left his body.

"Move another inch and I'll shoot her." Hudson warned, his once sad voice now violent in nature, making me wonder if he'd actually do it.

"You won't fucking shoot her!" Colten raised his tone, balling his fist by his side, over and over.

"I have a feeling you aren't willing to test that theory."

"Colt," I mumbled through my growing tears. "Just, calm down for a moment. You're hurt. The more you move, the more you'll bleed."

He finally looked to me, the fear that loomed in his eyes spread to his lips, pulling them down with a defeated look.

"What do you want, Hudson? Just tell me. I'll do whatever if you leave Colten out of it." I begged him one more time, hoping and wishing it would be enough.

"Oh, but Lee, Colten already found a way to weasel his way into it all. He's a part of this now just as much as you are." Drew's voice sounded from behind me, his tone mocking, filled with resentment at my loves name.

His footsteps approached slowly, as if he were taking his time until he stood directly in front of me, blocking my view of Colten.

I took in the beaten and bruised man in front of me. His left eye slightly swollen, hiding the deep blues I had once thought I loved. His face so longer resembled the teenager I had dated, even lost my virginity to. He was a man, one that who was livid with anger.

"Hi, Harley." Drew smiled only for a moment as his eyes skimmed my body, landing on the love bite to my neck Colten had given me earlier. He snatched my chin roughly, forcing me to look to me left. "You've been busy."

"Fuck, please don't let him die, Drew."

Drew snickered, tightening his hold on my face and forcing me to look back at him. "You have a gun to your head and you're worried about his life? What about my life when he almost killed me? You probably didn't even care he was going to. Had it not been for Hudson being there, he would have."

"I fucking should have. You mother fucking cock sucker." Colten spoke, almost slurring his words. I didn't have to see him to know he was bound to pass out soon, and after that, he'd be a dead man.

Drew fumed with anger before turning his body feverishly, driving his fist into the side of Colten's face.

Colten dropped to the ground with a thud, not even bracing himself for the fall. But he laughed, chuckling to himself even when Drew kicked his boot into his stomach.

"Such a fucking waste of life!" Colten laughed, smiling, exposing his reddened teeth. "You couldn't sweet talk her into loving you when you were teens and now, you gotta kill the man she loves just to get in her pants. How fucking pathetic."

Drew sent one more kick into Colten's stomach, finally earning a winded yelp of pain then turned back to me.

"You were supposed to love me. I did everything I could to make you love me so I wouldn't have to be like my father and have to force you to but you wouldn't fucking stop rebelling! It's like you were drawn to fucking up your life!" Drew snapped, grabbing me by the neck. "Well, guess what, Lee? It's all caught up to you now. You can't run from this anymore. You can't run from me again, I won't let you. You were promised to me and by fuck, I'm going to fucking have you."

I gasped for what little air he allowed me, pulling at his hand and hoping for him to release. I tried to reason with him, my words only coming out as squeaks of wasted air, but I didn't care.

I had dragged Colten into this mess, I couldn't let him die because of it.

I tried wiggling my body in his hold, pushing my knee upwards towards his sensitive spot, only for him to grab my ankle, twisting it into the air with a bone crackling sound, only releasing when I screamed in pain and landed to the ground beside Colten.

His face was paling, his eyes becoming glossy with every heavy blink he made.

"Drag him out to the car." Drew demanded of Hudson and as if his own little minion, Hudson complied, kneeling down and tossing Colten's limp arm over his neck.

"I love you, angel." Colten mouthed to me, breaking my heart as Hudson dragged him away.

I rolled onto my back, all my energy to keep fighting suddenly at an all time high. There was no way I'd let him die, he couldn't.

"Don't worry, Lee." Drew crouched down beside me, wedging his hands beneath my body until he was able to pick me up bridal style. "You'll see your precious, Colten again. I want him to watch how I touch you, I want him to listen to you moan my name. After I'm done then you could say your final goodbyes to the man who thinks he could take you from me."

"I'll never let you touch me!" I shoved on his chest, kicking my one leg that didn't throb with pain, over and over until he released me, letting me crash back first into the floor. All the air was sucked from my lungs the instant I made contact with the ground. Pain spread throughout me, numbing my thoughts for just a moment.

"Fuck, you fight a lot harder than you used to." Drew hummed happily, grabbing me by my arm and dragging me across the floor. "Get your fucking shoes on. Unless you want to be walking through the woods with a twisted ankle and bare feet."
