"Thank-you Mrs Trivedi. We aim to please" Divyanshi said with a polite smile to her new client

Mrs Trivedi's daughter is getting married and they want her to do the flower decorations of the event and all the wedding rituals

"I have heard a lot about your works and that's the reason why I'm here even if it's two hours away from our place. I want everything perfect for my baby's big day" Mrs Trivedi

"Don't worry Mrs Trivedi. Everything will be perfect. I promise"

Mrs Trivedi left and Divya proceeded to the garden behind her shop to water the plants before she close up for the day

While watering the plants, her thoughts ran back to the past.

Her love

Her baby

Oh!! How she missed them both

If she could have them back for just a moment, to hold them both close to her heart for just a second..

"Divyaa... " she startled out of her thoughts when Payal shook her

"What is it Payal??"

"You were lost and watering the same plant for a while"

"Oh I just... I was thinking" Divya said and Payal sighed

"You have to move on Divya. You are only twenty eight. Are you planning to live alone for the rest of your life??"

"I have my memories Payal"

"Yeah. Memories of a man who got you pregnant and did the runner" Payal said through clenched teeth

"Payal!! Don't talk about him like that. I told you what happened. I told you why he couldn't be with me."

"You might believe all that rubbish. But I'm not a fool. He took advantage of you and left you to suffer"

"Don't ever say anything about him Payal." Divya warned

"Fine!! Hold on to the memories of someone who doesn't deserve it" Payal huffed and backed away into the shop

After closing up Divya walked back to her apartment which is just around the corner

***

It hadn't come today either. The letter from Anjali Singhania with the news of Drishti and the photos spanning another year

Her little girl

Divyanshi tried to fight off another depressing wave of anxiety as she entered her one bedroom apartment with a stack of envelopes and papers from her front door

She checked it once more, then again.

Only electricity and water bills along with some brochures

Nothing regarding Drishti

The envelope usually comes two months before Diwali. It had been like that for the past twelve years.

Now it's only two weeks for Diwali and she hadn't received any news on her little girl

The uneasy feeling that something was wrong was gaining conviction

Anjali Singhania had come across as a very strong character who lived by rules and planned everything precisely

So what had happened this time??

Unless the envelope had somehow got lost

Or something had gone terribly wrong with the Singhania family
