Slightly EDITED, not all the way so if there's mistakes i'm sorry!

Waking up the next morning is surprisingly comfortable. I felt Derek’s arms wrapped around me, holding me close to his chest. The warmth of him made it soothing. Without thinking too much of it, I snuggled into his chest. His bare chest may I add. Derek’s arms tightened around my waist when I did. I smiled into his chest as I wrap an arm around his chest. It’s strange how I can feel so secure with Derek. We haven’t really been close throughout the years but we have hung out.

“Annabelle,” Derek mumbled. “If we plan on going to school we probably should get going.”

I groaned, “I could skip today. But if you’re going I’ll just go home.”

Once I pushed myself up I was pushed back down. I gasped as Derek was leaning above me. “Come to school. There’s a party later tonight.”

“I don’t need to go to school to go to the party,” I say. “Plus I’m not sure if I could go. After what happened last night…I’ll be surprised if I can have a social life from now on.”

          “Call your Dad. He’s cool.”

I sighed, “Fine. But in English we have to come up with a final topic.”

Derek rolled his eyes as he got off me, “Fine.”

As Derek was in the bathroom getting ready I made the decision to call my dad. Derek’s mom had my dress neatly folded on his dresser with my clutch lying on top of it. I grab my cell phone from my clutch and dialed my dad’s number. When he answered I automatically said, “Please don’t be mad at me!”

“Where are you? At that boy’s house?” my dad asked, seething.

“Yes but nothing happened! I swear! I’m sorry I totally ditched Mom yesterday but I had to get out of there and Derek was there.”

“So his name is Derek?” my dad said like he was imagining killing him. “Your mother was livid last night.”

“I figured,” I sighed. “But I’m sorry Dad.”

“I know,” he said as he calmed down. “But nothing happened between you and that boy right?”

“Nothing happened,” I said reassuring him. I looked up and saw Derek leaning against the doorframe of his door. He was trying not to laugh and I glared at him for it. “But I’ll be home later. And Dad?”

“Yes Anna,” he sighed probably knowing I was going to ask him something.

“Um,” I draw out, playing with a strain of my hair. I closed my eyes as I asked, “Can I go out tonight? I know I’m probably grounded but please cam I go? Mom doesn’t have to know you let me go. I can just say I never called and stayed with Derek. Please Dad?”
