Melanie woke me up the next morning. I ended up crashing on the pull out chair in the guest room. Derek and I had fun last night—surprisingly. He was the perfect gentleman, other than taking a bite out of my BBQ chicken wing. Riley crashed first, mostly because of the amount of alcohol be consumed throughout the hours. Shortly after Riley crashed Landon and Rebecca followed. They were cute together—Rebecca and Landon. He carried her up stairs and she giggled the whole way. By the way they were acting beforehand; I wouldn’t be surprised if they slept together.

“Where am I?” Melanie asked as she shot up in bed. Her hair is all askew and I had to bite back a laugh when I saw her appearance.

“Do you remember anything for last night?” I asked as I got off the chair. When I straightened my back cracked and I sighed in comfort. Derek offered me the couch, where he was sleeping on, but I refused. I figured I should be here when Melanie wakes up so she doesn’t freak out too bad.

Melanie groaned and rubbed her hands over her face, then her hair. She smoothed it down the best she could before she answered me. “I remember puking…and that’s it.”

I laughed and handed her another pill and water to lessen her headache, “Here, this will help with your headache.”

“Thanks,” she said as she places the pill on her tongues and chugs the down after. “Did I make a fool out of myself?”

I shook my head, “Well, you did throw up on a person. But not as bad as when Rebecca was drunk once. She was stumbling out of the bar, with a cowboy hat on, as she did the cha cha slide down the street. That was before she flashed a whole group of football players from our rival school.”

Melanie was laughing so hard she had to stop because of her headache. She got up and went into the guest room’s bathroom. I waited for her to finish up before we both made our way into the kitchen. Landon and Rebecca were up already making breakfast. When I saw Rebecca wearing Landon’s boxers and one of his shirts, I gave her a knowing look.

She shoots me a look also and mouthed ‘nothing happened’.

Melanie sat on a chair in the kitchen where Riley was. He smirked as she sat down. I smiled—they look good together. I turned and walked out of the kitchen to find a sleeping Derek on the couch. He looked peaceful and sweet. Too bad! I leaned forward so my lips were right above his ear. “Wake up!” I yelled.

He shot up and my plan would’ve worked perfectly is we hadn’t bumped heads. I winced in pain as I stood straight and rubbed the area Derek’s head hit. “Why did you do that?” he asked sounding pissed off. He also rubbed the spot where our heads came into contact.

I glared at him, “Maybe you shouldn’t have shot up so quickly!”

He looked at me to see if I was serious. “You’re the one who yelled at me. I was startled! Of course I shot up!”

I smirked, “As long as I scared you, this pain is worth it.” I said as I point to my head were he hit it. “Did you piss yourself too? Because that would be fantastic!”
