Edited, but if ther are mistakes I'm sorry!
There was a girl lying on a hospital bed. She looked like Derek but the only difference-she was handicapped. I could clearly tell she had cerebral palsy. Her arms were deformed and she was sound asleep. Tears were falling down my cheeks as I looked at the girl. She looked so innocent. A girl like this, or anybody, should suffer through something like this.
"She's my six year old sister," Derek said as he looking down at her. "Her name is Taylor. She has spastic cerebral palsy, it's the most common."
My throat hurt as the thump wouldn't go away. I looked up at Derek, "I'm so sorry. I'm such a terrible person! I thought you were hooking up with a random girl. Instead you were here with your sister! I'm such a bitch!"
Derek wrapped his arms around me and brought me against his chest. He smoothed my hair and was trying to calm me down. He leaned away and wiped the tears away softly. "You didn't know so don't think like that."
I wrapped my arms tightly around him, "I'm so sorry."
Derek and I grabbed chairs and pulled them up by her bed. Derek sat beside me. He looked so crestfallen and it broke my heart. Derek-bad boy Derek-actually has normal feelings. I reached out and intertwined our fingers. I squeezed, letting him know I was here for him. Derek looked down at our joined hands and smiled.
"Tell me more about Taylor," I say as I lean down and rest my head against his shoulder. I wrapped both my arms around his right arm as I try to make myself as comfortable as possible.
I heard Derek inhale before letting out a shaking breath. "Well, when my mom got pregnant with Taylor, it was unexpected. My parents were happy though. But being the stubborn, only child, I made a hassle about it. But when Taylor was born, I fell in love automatically. I felt horrible about giving my mom crap the whole time during her pregnancy.
"What I didn't know at the time, as that she was diagnose from birth. Something happened and Taylor developed cerebral palsy. My parents were stunned but it didn't falter their love for Taylor. Only being twelve, I didn't really know what cerebral palsy was. But when I found out Taylor had it, I did my research."
Derek swallowed and stopped. I looked up at him and gasped quietly when I saw a single tear fall down his cheek. He blinked out of his numb state of mind and realized I was staring at him. He cleared his throat and blinked back the rest of the tears. I liked seeing Derek Holt showing emotion other than badass. It made him normal. As he went to wipe the tear away, I stopped him. Derek looked at me in confusion. I bit my lip before leaning forward and lightly kissing away the tear. When I leaned away I saw Derek's eyes were closed. My tongue came out and wetted my lips, tasting the salty taste from the tear. When Derek reopened his eyes, I cracked a smile.
