Day 9
"Hey." Max came into my room.
Yesterday, none of us spoke to each other again and I stayed up in my room till they left.
"Yea, hey." I mumbled turning back to my phone.
"Mia..I'm sorry." He said sitting on my desk.
I dropped my phone. "For what?" I asked.
"Being mean to you yesterday, it wasn't your fault I and Kate fought" he said.
"It was my fault actually..." I trailed off and he didn't say anything for a while.
"Well, we've sorted things out so...yea." He said.
"That was fast.." I commented.
"Yea, she can't really do without me y'know..? Me being so awesome and all." He smirked and I rolled my eyes.
"You wish." I replied.
"Hmm... Even you know that I'm awesome." He said and I didn't respond.
"See? You didn't deny it." He laughed and I rolled my eyes.
His phone rang and he got it out of his pocket frowning. "Who?" I asked.
"Kate." He replied.
Max's POV.
"Hello" I said into the phone.
"Hey honey! I'm so sorry but cheer leading practice is taking so so long can you please pick up Kheris from the after school service?" She asked.
"What? I already went out." I muttered.
"I'm sorry! Harvey is busy with Matt and Val." She said.
"What of her nanny?" I asked.
"Max! You gave her an off. Remember?" She shrieked.
"Right, sorry I forgot." I said.
"So can you pick her up?" She asked.
"Yea." I replied. "Thank goodness, I was seriously worried" She said.
"Don't stress it. I've got it. You'll be home when then?" I asked.
"By 6." She replied.
What? Since when did cheer leading practice take that long?
"Okay, I'll see you then." I said.
"Yea. Love you." She said.
"Hmmm, yeah." I said and hung up.
"So we're going out." I said to Mia.
"To where?" She asked sitting up.
"To pick up kheris from school." I said.
"Who's Kheris?" She asked.
Didn't think of that question..
"She's a young four year old child." I said proud of my answer and she raised a brow.
"Who's she to you?" She asked more specifically.
"My d- I mean she's ....my friend's daughter.." I said and I'm not really lying.
She frowned. "How does Kate know her?" She asked and I paused.
"Hm..the friend is also her friend." I said.
"Oh? Okay....?" She said.
"Get dressed, I'll be by my car." I said eyeing the skimpy top and short shorts she was wearing.
"I can go like this." She grinned.
"No, you can't..." I said. That's way too revealing..
She rolled her eyes and went into her closet to change.
