Upon sussing out her domicile, he puts off going back home in that week. Allison is cast down from it while his wife, Luisa, smells something off. He hasn't give out his decision to her yet, and declining to come home within the current week adds fuel to the fire. Luisa did not accept his alibi of insufficient construction materials for the school building. It sounds fabricated for her. Upon hitting the button, news popped on his phone screen just in time when his wife calls him as well.
"So, you're not coming home for the rest of the week, aren't you? News is all over the town and yet you're there doing nothing. Aga, pwede namang magpadala ka na lang ng tao diyan eh! Alli wants you to come home. Another thing, dad keeps on bothering me of your verdict! What's holding you back ba?! You have dad's support. He would campaign for you. The opposing candidate has lesser supporters. That's a plus to us ... to you, hon! What's taking you so long to decide?! You're spending too much effort there. It's a waste of time, Aga. Wala ka namang mapapala diyan eh. Napalayo ka lang sa anak mo!", Luisa speaks on the other line.
He heaved a deep sigh to tamp down frustration, "Luisa, I know your dad wants me to take his seat. All the necessary supports are present, and I can see that. But, please, it isn't my thing! Ilang beses ko ba ipapaliwanag? Politics is not for me. It's ... it's out of my league. I don't have the heart for it, and the guts to run. Understand me naman. Running a business is my life. I spent my whole life for it. I live for it! Tell your dad I am not running. I won't file for COC. That's a verdict!"
"Eh di lumabas din ang totoo! Setting foot in that town doesn't have anything to do with donating a school f*cking building! Kaya ka nandiyan because you're eluding it! Ang sabihin mo wala kang balak umuwi agad because you're waiting to end the COC filing tsaka ka uuwi! Nagawa mo pang tiisin ang anak mo! You're self-centered, Ags!", she's in rage.
"Luisa, pwede ba!? Can you stop dragging Allison to this?! Labas siya sa usapang to! I am not self-centered! Between the two of us, it's you who thinks only of your family interests! Your dad wants me to run the mayoral position for his own sake! Hindi naman 'to para sa'kin eh, diba?! It's for his own interest! He knows people's trust are no longer for him!", it has been long burried deep down in him with hesitations to blurt it all out. But at this juncture, he knows wiping off that holdback floating in his thoughts are peremptory.
