Someone loves your candles

It wasn't even the sight of the box
That drew me into opening it
It was the delightful citrus smell
Something sharp yet delicate

Of course the box was beautiful
To where I may as well drop dead
Tied with a shiny gold ribbon
And the box a bold shade of red

But I didn't first see the box
Like all the people before me
Instead I caught it's sweet aroma
And fell in love with it near instantly

My curiosity of this box grew
Along with my lust for its scent
And the closer I approached it
The more the smell grew succulent

Finally I reach the box and I fall
Harder for it even than before
For the feeling of the soft ribbon
Made me love it that much more

Finally I untie the wonderful ribbon
Being sure not to tear or crease it
And I open the wonderful box
To find that the inside was brightly lit

Inside the box, to my utter delight
I found an old worn stuffed bear
He must have been loved by his owner
To have reached that level of wear

His eyes were buttons, about to fall off and
His tag didn't say anything too clever
But his buttons held wisdom I could never
And he was so soft- I'd like to hold him forever

I held the stuffed bear for a moment before
I turned to the other things the box concealed
After moving the stuffed bear out of the way
Only more wonderful items were revealed

Some half burned citrus candles which
Produced the scent I'd grown so fond of
Lemon lime, and grapefruit smells
That, blended together, earned my love

This box drew many odd people to it
As most don't stop for random presents
Except those who don't find acceptance
In a world of average and boring events

I too would have passed this box if not
For the impression the citrus had made
But I couldn't be happier I stopped for it
And not the life from which I had strayed

And now I feel it in my heart to protect
This box of treasures I so luckily had found
But I know I can't keep it all to myself
For this box is what makes the world go round

I wish I could take it home forever, truly
But this wish can't come true just yet
But I'll come back for you, darling
Don't let your pretty little ribbon fret

It really is what makes the world go round
So I move on and let it be among those
Who need it more than I do right now

But I love you sweetheart, don't forget it
