Caitlin pov
As he pulled away a rush of electricity ran through his hand and down my arm.No no no don't you all start getting excited here...
I don't mean fairytale "sparks". I mean literal electricity currents visibly struck me, the intensity almost pulling me away from him.
Everyone close around us, which thankfully was only family, immediately snapped their attention at the odd interaction, some even had to blink twice to process what had happened.
"Did I just see sparks?" Liam questioned captiously looking around to see if other people noticed.
"That is definitely not normal" Iris confirmed with a concerned expression.
"I agree" I replied staring at my arm while Barry mirrored my actions by staring at his hand.
"What was that?" Cisco questioned dramatically approaching me and placing a hand on my forehead and doing the same to Barry seconds later.
"Stop it" Barry whined smacking Cisco's hands away.
"Sorry to be concern for my friend. You don't usually go around shocking people" Cisco scolded.
"Guys is not just the electricity, I can feel my powers" I mentioned in fear.
"Uh... what else is new. Frosty is not a new topic here Caitlin. Try to keep up" Cisco chuckled rolling his eyes.
"No Cisco. I don't mean Frost. I mean I can feel her powers but within me" I replied.
"Frost is a part of you silly" Cisco replied furrowing his eyebrows not understanding my implications.
"I feel the cold powers as me not as her" I explained grabbing ahold of Cisco wine glass and freezing the tip while looking at him.
"Wait where is Frost? How did you do that?" Cisco questioned with wide eyes while the rest of the family slightly gasped.
"I've never been able to use my powers without Frost taking over before. I don't know" I explained as dumbfounded as Cisco.
"Why don't we take this somewhere more private?" Liam offered looking at the party that was in full swing all around him.
"Good idea. I agree with Liam" Iris encouraged carefully grabbing a hold of Barry's hand while everyone else followed behind them.
"Don't worry baby. We'll figure something out" Liam encouraged kissing my hair softly.
"So much for a normal birthday party huh?" I said sadly.
"We're about to launch a meta human hospital. The world isn't normal babe. Might as well be extraordinary" He winked encouragingly grabbing my hand in his and leading me out to a small private room just outside of the ballroom.
"Is this some sort of multiverse phenomenon" I theorized as soon as I walked in the room. My mind swirling with endless possibilities.
"Even if it was, the fates of the other worlds shouldn't affect ours unless-" Barry explained before I cut him off
"-unless there was an interruption in our timeline" I concluded looking at him with wide eye.
"The disruption must be big if its affecting our world" Cisco added looking between us.
"Wait multiverse?" Liam asked utterly confused.
"I'll catch you up later" Iris dismissed him with a small wave of her hand too focused on our current dilemma.
"Well what is it? What could be so big to suddenly change your metahuman fate?" Iris asked genuinely concerned for me rubbing my arm in comfort.
"I have absolutely no idea" I sigh I frustration.
"Why don't you guys try touching again and see what happens?" Cisco asked
"What if the whole place blows up?" I asked in fear.
"I'll be fast enough to get everyone out" Barry encouraged stretching out his hand.
"We need to figure out why this is happening Cait. It almost feels like our fates are being rewritten and we need to find a way to stop it" He added with pleading eyes.
I glanced at Liam for some sort of opposition but his soft eyes were encouraging and comforting as well.
"The more we know, the more we can help" Liam agreed with a soft smile.
"You're okay. No one will get hurt. I promise" Barry sad softly.
"Fine" I sighed deeply before stretching my hand out to meet his but sparks started firing between us before it could even happen. Both of us were blasted in opposite direction at full force.
Liam was by my side almost instantly grabbing a hold of back to lift me up gently.
"Are you okay? He asked scanning me for any more injuries while I nodded my head.
"I'm okay I'm okay" I replied as Barry lifted himself up with assistance from Iris.
"At least we've confirmed is wasn't some random coincidence" Cisco encouraged.
"Now we have to figure out what the hell is happening to us" I determined angrily.
"And why..." Barry added while everyone nodded in agreement.
"Can we worry about this tomorrow. I just want one day. One normal day before all hell breaks loose" Cisco pleaded.
"I agree. It's my damn birthday. Fate can wait just this once" I said fiercely.
"Hell yeah girl. Let's go!" Iris smiled happily yanking my arm into the ballroom. Liam followed with a chuckled and so did everyone.
Screw fate. It has ruined my life so many times. It's about time I do something about it. But not today. Because today is MY day.
Hello my beautiful family,
What did you guys think? Any theories on what might be happening between these two? I want opinions.
