Ch 11

Happy Thanksgiving familia. As a gift of gratitude from me to you; I'm updating a day early. Hope you enjoy with family today(stay safe and healthy)
Caitlin pov
It has been a few days since the party and we've all agreed to go back to New York for a couple of days to sort everything that is happening out. Liam and I will stay in his penthouse even though Iris offered to set up their guest bedroom for us to stay in. I would much rather keep my distance from Barry until we know what happening to the both of us.

I've been trying to reach Frost because it's almost as if she just vanished but I can still feel her.

"Babe you know how these past couple of months we've been acting a lot more like Frost?" Liam said as he came out of the bathroom to sit next to me on our king size bed.

"Yeah?" I nodded removing my heels and setting them next to me.

"Well here is my theory on what is happening to you. Your personality has been morphing with Frost. Even the way she thinks has rubbed off on you. What if all these changes have been symptoms of you and Frost merging into one." He theorized staring at me for some sort of reaction. Instead I plastered a confused expression

"I am not quite following your theory Dr. Stallard" I smiled apologetically.

"Its like Firestorm. Well something similar at least. You and Frost have been almost like two separate people living inside one tangible body. Frost has always been a part of you but she is not you. She exists because you do. So it is only logical that if you guys have been merging for these past couple of months; that Frost has been merging within you, and that's why you've acquired certain Frost like qualities and characteristics . Instead of being a part of you, Frost has become you" Liam explains further eyeing me carefully.

"And maybe that's why I can't reach her, but I can feel her, because she is me" I reasoned.

"And that's why you have powers now. You being Caitlin." Liam offers kindly.

"I don't need to channel Frost because there is no Frost" I said sadly feeling a lump on my throat.

"Hey hey don't cry. It's just a theory." Liam tried to comfort me pulling me towards him.

"A darn good theory. everything makes sense. That's why Frost and I have been so compatible lately, She agreed with everything I did or said. I mean, yeah she would give me snarky comments here and there, but that's just her personality. We've been so in sync that it almost felt like it was just me. I should of known something was up sooner" I scolded angrily at myself shaking my head furiously.

"Babe don't be so hard on yourself" Liam said softly rubbing my arm in a gentle manner.

"oh. my. gosh" I exclaimed softly with realization.

"What?" Liam questioned turning his head towards me in curiosity.

"I know why Barry and I had that weird interaction at the party"  I sighed with clarity.

"Why?" Liam asked shifting his posture so he was completely facing me.

"If Frost and I did 'merge' into one; then I no longer have an outlet to suppress my powers. Frost was like my power dampener. So when I was 'me', it would be like I was just any regular human. When I was 'Frost', she would carry the metahuman gene. Now that I am both me and her, I have her metahuman gene imbedded in my genetic composition. So in theory, Barry's electrical field when interacting with my cold powers, is exposed to negative magnetic wavelengths" I explained manifesting past events into perspective.

"because electricity and ice are polar opposites" Liam finished my conclusion.

"explaining why we were hurled in opposite directions anytime we touch. There a negative magnetic reaction" I added raising my arms above my head in accomplishment.

"Hypothetically yes" I sighed in relief wrapping my arms around Liam in comfort.

"So basically what you are saying is that you and Barry are incompatible" Liam smirked gleefully.

"Yeah pretty much" I laughed humorously.

"I am very satisfied with your hypothesis then" He concluded kissing my head.

"Shut up" I grinned playfully smacking his arm.

"All jokes aside babe. The easiest way to test out our theory is to get your blood test. If we're right, Frost's meta gene should be intertwined with yours" Liam suggested.

"You're right and if I do have the meta gene, then the rest of my theory with Barry should fall right into place" I added rationally.

"Well this was a wonderful pillow talk before bed" Liam laughed setting himself comfortably under the bed covers as I mimicked his actions.

"I love our pillow talks" I laughed inching closer to snuggle into Liam's side.

"I love you" He smiled softly pecking my lips.

"I love you too" I smiled into the kiss as he inched away and slipped further into the covers.

"Whatever it is, we will get through it together. I promise" He said comfortingly wrapping his arms around my waist.

"I know we will" I smiled happily closing my eyes.

Whatever happens, I know my happy place will always be with him.
