"i'm going to miss you so much," ashton sighs into my shoulder.
"i will too, but we'll see each other in less than three weeks. 18 days baby, 18 days." I mutter back.
this day was already going so well and i couldn't tell him the news. i was so scared of his reaction and i know that he deserves to know, but it'll have to wait until next time we see each other.
"okay, it's getting late and i don't want you driving all night." ashton admits softly and pulls back from our embrace.
"you be safe driving and make sure you text me when you get home." i look him in the eyes.
"of course, i'll see you soon, girlfriend." he smiles widely.
i walk to my car and once i reach it, i open the door and turn around to wave to him. i start my car, out my seatbelt on and watch as ashton is out of view. this drive was petty, but it was totally worth it because i got to see my boyfriend. one day, hopefully at least, we won't have to drive too far or we'll be living together.
one super long drive later, i arrive home. i park my car in the driveway and open my front door. as soon as i open the door, my mom seems startled.
"what's going on?" i ask, "were you sleeping?"
"yeah, i just wanted to make sure you got home safely." she says in a soft, tired voice.
"we're both okay," i say softly, taking a seat on the couch.
"good, how did he take it?" she asks, suddenly more awake and interested.
"well... about that..." i trail off.
"brin? you didn't tell him? he's the one who put the child in you! you know you need to tell him as soon as you can," she scolds.
"i know, mom, he's my actual boyfriend now and i didn't want to ruin the day!" i argue back with her.
"the child you two created isn't going to ruin the day! you're going to start showing soon and you need help with money for the doctor. you're having a baby so young so it's not going to be all rainbows and butterflies. it's going to be difficult." she admits while i start to tear up, "i'm just worried for you and your future."
"i know and i appreciate it. i was so scared mom! we've really only known each other for about three months and we just stated dating! i can't just start the day with, 'hey ash! i'm having a baby and you're the father.' i'm not that brave!" i choke out and start sobbing completely.
"aw, baby." she coos and takes me into her arms.
i wrap myself around my mother and cry out into her shoulder, even harder than when i found out i was carrying a child. i don't really know how long i was crying, but by the time i was finished i felt exhausted, yet so hungry. i unwrap myself, mutter a 'thank you', and walk off to the kitchen to find something satisfying.
there wasn't much for me to eat, but i needed something so i went back outside to my car and left my home once again. i drove aimlessly, finding nothing that i could actually enjoy. it was later, around 10 or so, therefore nothing was really open.
finally, i find a small fast food joint and find a parking space. i lock my car and go inside to fulfill my basic human nature needs. i order some fries and a chicken sandwich and find a place to sit until my food was ready. i was texting ashton when i felt a small tap on my shoulder. i place my phone down and turn around to see it was michael, calum, and luke standing there.
"hey guys," i say with a smile and getting hugs from all three.
"what are you doing out here this late?" cal asks.
"i just needed to feed for t- i mean myself." a nervous laugh erupts from my mouth. it was not a very slick cover up considering the looks that i was getting from them.
"so how are you and lover boy? driving you guys around for your date was fun was interesting," luke asks, breaking the awkward tension.
"i saw him today and we are official," i laugh a tiny bit. i was still shaking from what just happened moments ago.
"i called it and now you owe me $50!" michael yells in laughter and points at the two other boys.
"you called what?" i laugh at his actions.
"how long it would take for him to ask you out and i said within a month and they said two from when camp ended." michael explains while he smiles in triumph.
"you didn't get the second part though!" calum points out and luke nods in agreement.
"what was the second part?" i ask, confused.
"we thought that he would also knock you up, but you're still super skinny." luke explains even more. i could feel the color from my face drain so quickly and i thought i was going to pass out.
"oh," i laugh quickly, trying to cover up any noticeable signs.
"he doesn't know?" michael asks with a face of concern which leaves me even more lost and confused.
"we know you're pregnant, brin," luke forces out a smile.
"wh-why? how? is it that noticeable?" i ask and pull my shirt down even farther, but there was no evident bump.
"you had a couple slip ups and we figured. we were talking to ashton and apparently you had something to tell him and you were nervous. it all adds up." luke says.
"what does he think?" i ask with a small tear going down my face.
"he doesn't really know, he doesn't know that you pregnant, he's just unsure of what you're going to tell him. he loves his family and i know that he'll take it well. plus, we'll always be there for you too. you don't need to worry about anything, brin." michael smiles and calum pulls me in for a hug.
suddenly it was a group hug and i have never felt so close to people other than my family in my whole entire life. i was so thankful to be able to have this many people who have said they'll be here for me. but will they keep their word?
