AN: Another story around The Dance, apologies! The dates and the facts might be off, but I'm just going to repeat myself that this is all fiction. Just go with it :)

"Is there anything else you need from me tonight?" Stevie's assistant asked, having accompanied Stevie to her room.

"No, Karen, thanks. I'm good." Stevie smiled weakly. "I just want to go to bed."

"Alright, well, I'll come wake you up in the morning then." Karen said, giving Stevie a wave goodbye.

The second she was left alone, Stevie fell onto the bed and sighed heavily, closing her eyes. They had less than ten shows left. Where did the time go? It felt like it was just yesterday, when Stevie received a phone call about a possible reunion of the Rumours five. The experience had been wonderful so far, but she'd be lying if she said that the excitement hadn't started wearing off. The exhaustion was kicking in and more often than not Stevie dreamed of her own bed, instead of a different one almost every night in yet another hotel, in some other city. However, there was still something to smile about, to try and calm those butterflies down - Lindsey. Prior to the Fleetwood Mac reunion, they hadn't talked for years, but the second they came face to face, any of the ill feelings they might have had towards each other disappeared. Maybe they had finally grown up. They managed to put all of their differences aside and become friends again, which they hadn't been for a very long time.

It was getting really late, but she had to keep her promise to someone, who had come into her life so unexpectedly and much to her surprise, he stayed. Reaching for the phone, Stevie dialed the number, which she knew by heart at this point.

"I woke you up." Stevie said, when Dave picked up the phone.

"No. Well, yes, but I was waiting for your call." She could hear him yawn at the other end of the line. "How did the show go?"

"It went well, but I'm so tired. I want this tour to end, but at the same time I don't."

"I know, baby. I know that you're probably having a lot of fun, but I can't wait for you to come home. I miss you." Dave added.

"I miss you, too." And that was not a lie. For the first time in a long time Stevie had a constant in her life. "How was your day?"

"Eh, same old. The twins made a mess in the kitchen, we tried baking cookies."

Stevie chuckled hearing that, she missed those babies as well. "I love you all, give them kisses from me first thing in the morning."

"Promise. We love you, too."

"Go back to bed, Dave. I can hear that you're tired. I'll try and call a bit sooner the next time."

"Okay, have a good night." Dave was in the middle of saying, I love you, when Stevie hung up the phone.

Almost as soon as Stevie was done talking to Dave, she heard a knock on her hotel room door. She didn't have to wonder, who it was, she knew exactly, who it was. Those late night visits had become yet another unexpected constant in Stevie's life.

"Done with your call?" Lindsey asked, lingering in the hallway. He had the displeasure of having to listen to Stevie talking to Dave on more than one occasion. He'd been trying to come later since the last one a couple of weeks ago.

"Yeah, just." Stevie nodded, opening the door wider, showing Lindsey to come inside. "You?"

"Same." Lindsey nodded. "Is everything okay? You don't seem to be in a very good mood."

Stevie sighed, shrugging her shoulders. "I don't know, it's just... I've been thinking a lot about this whole thing." She motioned between Lindsey and herself with her hand.

Those words caused Lindsey's heartbeat to pick up pace. "Are you starting to regret it? Us?"

"That's the problem. I don't regret any of what's happened." She shook her head. "And what's even worse..." She looked down, clasping her hands together. "I don't want it to end."
