Stevie didn't acknowledge Mick, when he caught up with her after soundcheck. She kept on walking to her dressing room, only glancing at him, when he nudged her.
"What?"
"You're in a mood, I see."
"Well, now I am." Stevie sighed, rolling her eyes. She had a feeling Mick would try and interfere sooner rather than later. She knew he was going to talk about Lindsey.
"What's going on with you lately?" Mick's voice reached her again.
"Nothing." Stevie shrugged, only a couple more steps separating her and her dressing room.
"Could have fooled me." He gave her a look and blocked her entryway, folding his arms over his chest.
Stevie mimicked him, his size didn't intimidate her one bit as she stared up at him, hoping he'd move without her having to say a word. She raised her eyebrow at him and Mick just rocked back on forth on the heels of his feet.
"Mick!" Stevie whined. "Come on, let me in."
"You're acting stupid." He said.
"I don't know, what you're talking about." She shrugged, looking away.
Mick rolled his eyes and pushed the door of her dressing room open. He let her go in first, then entered as well. Stevie expected to be left alone. She sighed heavily, when Mick took a seat, leaving her no choice but to join him.
"Why are you doing this to yourself again, Stevie?" Mick asked. He didn't sound judgmental, he actually sounded like he cared. "You know, we all know, how this is going to end."
"You all?" She frowned and swallowed uneasily. "Who- who else knows?"
"Everybody." Mick shrugged. "We've known you and Lindsey long enough to know that something's going on."
"So? You're hear to tell me, what we're doing is wrong? I've heard all that before."
"It's not my place to tell you anything, Stevie. I want to talk to you as a friend." Mick shifted in his seat, turning to face her. "I understand that you and Lindsey will never be truly over, but... is a quick affair really worth jeopardizing what you now have back at home?"
Mick was the only member of Fleetwood Mac, who knew about Stevie and Dave's relationship, and he'd let her know many times, he thought Dave was great, that she should stop looking back and move on for good.
"You don't understand, Mick." Stevie emphasized. "There's a reason, why Lindsey and I keep coming back to each other for the past twenty years."
"I get that, but don't involve other people if you can't sort your shit out, despite there being a reason, why you can't let go of each other." Stevie gritted her teeth, keeping her mouth shut. "I've been around you and every love interest you've had for years, Stevie. None of them treated you the way Dave does. He's a good guy, who genuinely cares about you."
"I care about him as well."
"Well, it doesn't look like it, when you're ready to tear your clothes off the second you see Buckingham."
"Alright, Mick, enough." Stevie held up her hands, wishing for him to stop. "This is not your place-"
"You're right, it's not. But again, as your friend, I suggest you think about what you're doing, Stevie." Mick shook his head, adding. "Because it's not right and you're going to get hurt."
"I'd like you to leave now, please."
Mick didn't argue as he stood up. He walked over to the door and reached for the handle. He stopped, however, and look back over his shoulder.
"I shouldn't be telling you this, but Dave's planning to surprise you. He's coming to the show after the next one." Mick finished, before walking out. "I'd hate for him to catch you in bed with Lindsey."
