"She's on her way." Lindsey turned to Jason, hanging up the phone.

Kristen was more than eager to come over, when Lindsey invited her, saying he had been thinking, he missed her and wanted to possibly work things out. He didn't necessarily felt good about lying, but she had to come, while Jason was still there as well. Lindsey wondered, how Kristen was going to try and lie her way out of the situation, while he and the other man awaited her arrival.

"I want you to know that I'm sorry." Jason spoke up, not a big fan of the silence. "If I had known, I would have stayed away. Although, I guess, some of the blame is on me, too. I mean, I didn't stop and think or ask, who's in all of these pictures around the house."

Lindsey couldn't bring himself to be angry with Jason. The man was clearly not the sharpest tool in the shed. Knowing just how persuasive Kristen could be, Lindsey believed she had Jason wrapped around her little finger in no time.

"It's not really your fault, though." Lindsey shrugged. "Kristen and I just didn't work, that's all. She got into this relationship with a possible ulterior motive, while I myself was still in love with another woman. Sure, it was flattering that a much younger woman showed interest in me, but once I was reunited with someone, for whom I have genuine deep feeling, I realized that a trophy wife is not something I want."

Jason remained quiet for a minute, he then shook his head. "I can't believe that she told you, the baby's yours. Man, that makes me furious."

"I'm not in the way, Jason." Lindsey said. "I'm out." He added, holding his hands up. "I do hope that somehow you two can make this work. I'm focused on repairing the damage Kristen's done."

At the mention of her name, the doorbell rang and Lindsey got up to his feet. As soon as he opened the door, Kristen wrapped her arms around his neck, clinging on to him for dear life. Lindsey kept his hands at his sides.

"I'm so glad you've changed your mind!" Kristen beamed at him, attempting to kiss his lips, but Lindsey turned his head and pulled away. "What's the matter? I was hoping for a warmer welcome."

"Why don't you come with me?" Lindsey suggested, an odd smile on his face.

Lindsey walked them to the room, where Jason was sitting. Kristen's eyes widened, when he said, hello. She looked from one man to the other, then grabbed Lindsey's hands, swearing she didn't know, who Jason was.

"It's over, Kristen." Lindsey said. "Jason and I had a nice long talk. I know that you two were having an affair, while I was away."

"No! He's a liar, Lindsey! He lied to you, I love you!" She insisted, again, trying to reach out for Lindsey, but he didn't allow it. "I've never seen this man in my life."

"How can you say that?" Jason asked, seemingly hurt by her claims. "I came here every other day to be with you."

"Lindsey, you have to believe me-" Kristen's attention was still on Lindsey, he interrupted her.

"I don't!" He yelled. "I don't believe anything you have to say. You cheated on me, got pregnant and tried to trap me." Lindsey shrugged. "That's it, that's the whole story."

Seeing that Lindsey had his mind made up and her lies had come out, Kristen suddenly dropped the act. She glared at Jason. "And it would have worked if you had stayed away like I asked you to."

"I'm seeing a totaly different person." Jason said. "I don't know, who you are, Kristen."

"What, you thought we were in love?" She scoffed, folding her arms over her chest.

"Well, no, not exactly. But I thought we could be." He shrugged his shoulders, sticking his hands in his jeans' pockets as he cast his eyes down to the floor. "You lied to this man, you lied to me. You wanted to have us both and now you have neither. Was it worth it?"

Kristen remained tight lipped, avoiding looking at either of the two men. She then turned to Lindsey. "I hope, Stevie doesn't take you back." She spat angrily.

"Oh no." Lindsey shook his head. "You will be the one, telling her the truth."

"Like hell I well!" Kristen laughed a humourless laugh.

Knowing he had the upper hand, Lindsey continued. "If you tell Stevie that you've lied, I'll continue supporting you financially. Your baby didn't ask to be brought into this mess and I do feel sorry, so I'm going to pay you monthly for you to be able to support your child."

Kristen was fuming. She stood silently, her teeth gritted, fists clenched at her sides. "I hate you."

"I don't exactly love you either, Kristen." Lindsey said, shrugging his shoulders.

With the deal made, Kristen was the first to storm out. Jason stayed behind to apologize to Lindsey several more times, before he departed as well. Now left alone at last, Lindsey breathed a sigh of relief, a new hope had risen in his heart.
