Lindsey was looking forward to coming home until he stepped through the door of his mansion. Suddenly, the only thing he was able to feel was emptiness. His mind went straight to Stevie, worry filled his heart. What if the tour truly was the one thing keeping us together? What if she sees Dave and realizes, he's the man for her; a younger, handsome, untroubled man, who cares for her deeply, who has no strings attached to someone else, who's just able to be there for her and lover her?
Before Lindsey could dive deeper into his misery, his train of thought was interrupted by Kristen, who seemed overly excited as she practically skipped towards him and jumped into his arms.
"I missed you so much, baby! It's so good to see you!" She shrieked into Lindsey's ear and he winced, putting her down on the ground.
"You nearly knocked me over." Lindsey complained, then tried to mask his displeasure with a smile. "I missed you, too." Did he though?
"Come on, tell me everything!" Kristen grabbed him by the hand and dragged him into the living room, she pulled at his hand, making him sit down. "How's everyone? I'm so sorry I could only come that one time at the beginning of the tour. I really wanted to come see you."
"No worries." Lindsey said, shaking his head. One significant other making a surprise appearance was quite enough. "I'm tired, Kristen. I just want to lie down."
"Oh, come on, Lindsey. We haven't seen each other in so long!" She whined and Lindsey closed his eyes. Her voice was bringing along a headache. "Well, alright. If you don't want to talk..." Kristen trailed off and made herself comfortable in his lap. "Then-"
"I can't do this." Lindsey pushed her away, she frowned. "I didn't plan on having this conversation the second I returned home, but there's something we need to talk about, Kristen."
Kristen had anticipated his foul mood. She wasn't that oblivious. The one Fleetwood Mac show she had attended, told her a lot about Lindsey and Stevie's relationship, which Kristen wasn't sure was completely over. She didn't say anything back then, but all the looks, all the touches, the whispers didn't go unnoticed by her. Kristen was positive that Lindsey not wanting to talk or even touch her had to have had something to do with Stevie. He was probably missing his ex a bit more than he had missed Kristen herself, which didn't sit well with her.
"Oh, I've actually been waiting to tell you something as well, Lindsey." Kristen spoke up before he could again. "I have amazing news. I'm sorry, baby, but I'm sure that your thing can wait a little longer."
Lindsey frowned, looking at her. Something about her, about the way she was talking, made him feel nervous. What could be more important than me wanting to break up?
"Wh- what is it?" Lindsey asked, unsure if he wanted to know.
"Well..." Kristen smiled, reaching for his hands. "When you left, I began noticing some signs."
"Signs?" Feeling a lump forming in his throat, Lindsey coughed.
"Yes. I thought that I may have caught something. I was sure whatever it was, it was going to go away in a couple of days. But it didn't." She added. "Then it occurred to me." Lindsey's breathing fastened as he listened. "I was late. You know... So, I went to see my doctor."
No. No, no, no... This can't be happening!
"It was a usual check up at first, but then she ran some tests and guess what, Lindsey?" Kristen grinned, one of her hands now resting on her middle. "I'm pregnant. You and I are going to have a baby."
