"Thanks for breakfast." Dave gave Stevie a quick kiss on his way. "I'll do the dishes." He said, bringing the empty plates over to the sink.

"Not a big deal, Dave. I've told you that a million times." Stevie waved it off, reaching for her unfinished cup of coffee. "I enjoy this domestic side of myself."

"Are you ignoring this pile of mail?" Dave asked, showing with his hand to the kitchen island. "It gets bigger every day."

"I know." She sighed. "I'm waiting for Karen to look through it first, so she can deal with what she's supposed to deal with, then hand over to me the rest, which requires my attention." Dave looked over his shoulder, giving Stevie a look. "You can stare at me all you like, this is exactly the reason, why I have a personal assistan." She shrugged, a smile on her face.

In spite of what she said, Stevie walked over to the said pile. A cup of coffe in on hand, she used the other to spread the envelopes arround. One in particular did catch her eye and Stevie frowned slightly, picking it up. It didn't have the return address or any other name, besides Stevie's. She guessed, it was fanmail, brought over by someone specifically and not sent via post office.

With the envelope in hand, Stevie went back to retake her seat. She placed her cup down and tore off the top. She didn't recognize the writing.

'Stevie,

I'm probably the last person you'd expect to receive a letter from. I decided to write it down, instead of coming to see you directly, because I simply don't want to. I wouldn't have even sent the letter if Lindsey hadn't forced me to tell you the truth.'

Confused, Stevie's eyes wandered to the bottom of the page. Kristen. Why on earth would Kristen contact her?

'As I'm sure you know, when Fleetwood Mac finished the tour, I shared some news with Lindsey. I told him that I'm pregnant with his baby. That's not true. I messed up, while you were on the road, I tried to make Lindsey believe that he was the one, who got me pregnant. As I heard, you didn't take the news too well and pushed him away. I mean, thanks, but Lindsey still didn't trust me. Unfortunately, by a complete accident, he has recently found out the truth. He's met the biological father.

I'm not going to waste your time or mine, I'm not going to get into any details, but here it is. Lindsey and I are done for good. I'm out of his life, so you could come back.

I'm not going to leave any of my personal information, but if you don't believe that this is coming from me, reach out to Lindsey. He's waiting.

Kristen'

Stevie re-read the letter a couple more times. Not the whole page, but the part, where Kristen said, Lindsey wasn't the father of her baby. Dave's voice brought her back to the present moment, catching her attention after several tries.

"Stevie? Are you with me?" Dave asked, chuckling nervously. "You've gone quiet all of a sudden."

"I, uh, yeah..." She trailed off, clenching her fist as well as Kristen's letter along with it.

"Is everything okay?" Dave became worried and walked over to Stevie. "You look as if you've seen a ghost."

"I'm fine." Stevie nodded, taking a couple of deep breaths. She went to pour herself a glass of water and downed it in one go. She placed her hands on the kitchen countertop to support herself, suddenly, feeling lightheaded. Stevie was far from feeling fine.

Somewhat carefully, Dave approached her again and embraced her from behind. Stevie covered his hands with hers and leaned back against him. She closed her eyes, afraid of the tears that were threatening to fall.

"What did you read?" Dave asked softly, pressing a kiss just behind her ear.

"It was nothing, just some fan." Stevie lied, shrugging. "It made me a bit emotional, that's all." She forced a smile and turned around in his arms. "I'm just fine." She repeated, trying to convince Dave as much as herself.
