Stevie had asked Karen to just drive around aimlessly, so she could cry her heart out. She checked her appearance in her compact mirror and her eyes were still red and puffy, but she wanted to go home. She had to see Dave, before she found herself on Lindsey's doorstep again. It wasn't easy, saying goodbye to him, but Stevie genuinely felt like it was the right thing to do. Having tried so many times to be together, they were bound to realize that they simply weren't meant to be.

Dave was snoozing on the couch in the living area of the house, when Stevie returned home. She smiled weakly, looking at him. The man could fall asleep any time and anywhere. With his eyes still closed, Dave felt her presence and he turned on his side, making room for Stevie to lie down next to him.

"You said, you weren't going to take long." Dave spoke up, his face buried in the curve of Stevie's neck, his arm wrapped around her middle.

"I wasn't gone that long." Stevie replied, tracing the length of his arm with her fingernails. "When are you leaving to pick up your babies?" She asked, changing the subject.

Inhaling deeply, Dave opened his eyes and checked his wristwatch. "I've still got a couple of hours. What do you wanna do tonight?"

She shrugged, thinking for a second. "Well, they love pizza and a movie."

"Mm..." Dave nodded with a smile. "I love pizza and a movie, too."

Stevie chuckled lightly, propping herself up on her elbow, her other hand on his cheek, she leaned in for a kiss. "It's settled then."

Dave's expression suddenly turned serious and she felt her heartrate pick up pace a little. "Have you been crying?"

"Crying? What, no." She shook her head, forcing a smile to convince him. "No, something got in my eye. I was struggling to get it out for the longest time."

"Yeah?" Dave gave her a look, blindly searching for her hand. "You'd tell me if something had happened, right?"

"Of course." Stevie assured, nodding her head once, she then pressed their lips together again.

With no intentions at first, Stevie felt a sudden need to feel as close to Dave as possible. Their kiss began escalating and she soon found herself on top of him. Bouts of desire at the most random moments, wasn't completely out of character for Stevie, so Dave didn't question it. He lifted himself up, so she could remove his shirt, while he reached for the hem of her blouse and pulled it up over her head and tossed it aside. Lips locked, Dave flipped them over with ease and positioned himself above her. He kissed down her throat to her chest, he smiled, when she arched her back. The rest of their clothes were soon discarded and a deep moan escaped her at the feeling of the first forceful thrust of his hips...

They lay together in silece for a while. There wasn't a lot of space on the couch, which resulted in Stevie almost on top of Dave again as she rested her head on his chest, her leg draped over his. With his eyes shut, Dave slowly combed through her hair, occasionally turning his head to kiss wherever his lips reached her.

The quiet, peaceful moment was interrupted by Stevie's voice as she said something, Dave didn't expect her to bring up in a million years. "I think, we should get married."
