Alex walked down the busy sidewalk, in a hurry to get to work. He decided today would be a great day to walk to work. It was a terrible decision, of course, but he was going to stick to it. Maybe the walk would turn out to be a good decision later?

He was practically running by now. He just wanted to be inside. It was too cold and he didn't have enough layers. The sky was fairly dark. He hoped it wouldn't rain. He did not have the patience to deal with that.

Alex, being desperate, hid in a small coffee shop. There was warmth and maybe another coffee would bring his mood up a little. He got his usual order, hot black coffee with enough sugar to give a heart attack. He sipped the hot beverage with a sigh. Yeah, caffeine and a sugar high would definitely bring his mood up.

He exited the coffee shop with a half-full cup of coffee in his hand and a better mindset. This time, he gave a slight smile while walking down the sidewalk. Also, maybe he was skipping a tiny bit...

All was going perfectly.

Until he tripped over himself.

He gave a small 'oof' sound as he fell...into someone else's arms?

Alex's eyes peeked open and he saw a tall, cute man with fluffy, black curls holding him. His face flushed as the dark-skinned man smiled at him.

He was about to speak when another person yelled at the two. "Ayo! When's the wedding, Thomas?"

Thomas. That was the man's name. Thomas. It suited him perfectly.

Thomas took his hand, helping him get on his feet.

"As I'm sure you've heard, I'm Thomas Jefferson."

"Alexander Hamilton..." Alex stared at the man. He knew he shouldn't have been, but he couldn't help himself. Thomas was gorgeous.

"John, get over here!" Thomas yelled out. Another guy, John, came up to them. "This is the asshole who yelled at us."

John smirked, obviously checking him out. Alex wasn't even going to lie. He was cute too.
