A/N: I mean, I could use this for one of my drafts too-

John Laurens and Thomas Jefferson. The famous lawyers. Everyone knew they were dating. Hell, Alex was friends with the person writing that story.

Right now, Alex just needed a story. There was a rumor that John Laurens would be inheriting his father's spot as head of the law company. That seemed interesting enough. Okay, how to find him? He could stalk him on the internet until he found something useful. Yeah, that sounds like a good option. If he didn't find anything Alex would just have to try something else.

After a while, Alex managed to dig up a rough schedule of John's day. Today, Thursday, his lunch break was at 1 pm. So, 20 minutes. Perfect. Alex was about 10 minutes away from the building, so that was plenty of time to think of what to say.

Alex was so lost in thought, he didn't notice John left the building until someone walked into him. John-fucking-Laurens. Perfect.

"Oh, I'm so sorry-" John tried, but Alex cut him off.

"No, no, it's fine. I probably shouldn't have been in the middle of the sidewalk anyway-"

"Yeah, but-"

"John, it's fine, I promise," Alex reassured him.

John's head slightly tilted to the side. "How did you- oh right..."

Alex stuck his hand out for him to shake, and John did. "Alexander Hamilton. You've probably seen one of my articles," he said. "And you've been on the cover of a few magazines."

"Right."

"Hey, actually I was waiting for you." John raised an eyebrow.  "Can we talk about the new rumor going around of you assuming your father's position at the company?"

"Uh..." John fidgeted with the cuff of his suit. "I was supposed to meet my boyfriend for lunch but..." A small, hopeful smile spread on John's face. "Um, I'm sure he wouldn't mind. Why don't you join us?"

"I love being a third wheel. It's so fun. This isn't sarcasm, by the way. No, definitely not." Alex thought for a moment. "As long as I'm not intruding. I can make sure I'm out after 1o minutes?"

"Sure, sounds great!"
