A/N: it's also an au where you can only see color after you touch your soulmate for the first time
Alex sighed. Another day, the same schedule. The same schedule since he'd stopped aging 49 years ago. Actually, no. He decided he would do something different today. He picked up his keys and walked out the door.

The library smelled like pine and comfort. Alex already loved it. He dragged his fingers down the long aisle of books before picking a biography on on of the founding shit-heads. Eventually, he decided to check it out and read in his bed. Though it wasn't a big change, it was fun.
As he exited the building, he tripped on a rock. Ow. Alex lifted his head to see someone holding their hand out for him.
He took it, starting to pull himself up but started stumbling back down after his vision flooded with color. He clenched his eyes shut, hiding from all the brightness.
Alex peeked one eye open and saw the same person helping him up again. He was cute...
"So..." Alex whispered.
"So..."
Alex cleared his throat and held his hand out for the other to shake. "Alexander Hamilton."
"John Laurens."
