A/N: modern au but there's still the war with the redcoats and stuff

She wasn't even the middle child, but she felt like it. She had always been the quiet one. She was always overlooked by everyone and her only friend was dating one of her sisters. Soon enough, he had abandoned her to spend more time with her sister and she was alone again.

Whenever she spoke up, she was shot down. She was labeled stupid because apparently she couldn't speak for herself. It wasn't her fault, though. She just wanted someone to talk to. She didn't want to spend every night by herself.

She had enough though. She was tired of being invisible. All her life she had never been close to her family, but that day was the final straw. Her sister's words still echoed in her mind.

"It's not my fault you can't think for yourself."

"You're so useless. What do you even do here?"

"We have another sister?"

"Oh my god, she's so annoying too. Like, she just comes out of nowhere and butts into my conversation."

So when a redcoat kidnapped her she wasn't exactly disappointed.

"Peggy Schuyler," her kidnapper purred. "Hm, I wonder what info she has on the great Philip Schuyler."

"Save it," Peggy spat. "I want in."
