Summer...

Thomas said that he found the city. Probably my talk that I gave him was persuasive enough. Now he had called a meeting to explain everything to us and I just can't wait, what kind of wisdom falls out of his mouth this time.

Don't get me wrong I love Thomas, he is becoming my best friend now that Minho is being held, but he complicates things so much sometimes. So I am not sure what to expect from him in this situation.

Thomas slammed the old torn-up map on the wooden table, pointing at the place that was circled with a big red marker. I leaned onto Newt while listening to what Thomas has to say. He was mainly focused on Vince because he was the one he had to convince about this plan of his.

"There, that's it," Thomas said tapping the place on the map with his finger. Quite far for a trip on feet if you ask me. "It's a few hundred miles," Thomas confirmed, reading the look on my face. "Based on the railways, everything that Aris told us, that's gotta be where they're headed. That's where they're taking Minho and Winter." Thomas explained. And now to the plan man. "We take everyone who can fight. Follow the roads where we can. We can make it back within a week."

Thomas glanced my way, knowing that this piece of information will make me especially happy. A small smile found its way to my lips. We can get those two shanks back. There still is hope. I was so thrilled I could just hug Thomas right here and now.

"A week? It took us six months to get here."...Of course, we will be met with skepticism along the way. Vince clearly wasn't all in for the idea. I reached for the mug that Newt had his hands around while leaning against the table. I took it from it and took a small gulp of the hot liquid. He looked up at me with a raised eyebrow as if asking what the shuck.

"I'm cold," I muttered silently to not disturb the talk between Thomas and Vince. Newt shook his head slightly and straightened up a bit so I could snuggle my body closer to him. He is the best heather what can I say.

"We got over 100 kids here now. We can't just hang out here forever after what we just pulled." Vince continued explaining his reasons why he thought this wasn't a good idea. And somewhat I agree that we have a responsibility now for those kids that we saved. They trust us now and we can't let them down. But that doesn't mean that we can't save Minho and Winter too. And those other kids that they have there. One little boy was complaining to me that his little sister was still on the train. I doubt that he will want to continue his life without her. I know I wouldn't want that. "You wanna wander off to some random point on the map. You don't even know what's there."

"I do." A voice from the doorway caught our attention. Jorge had finally joined in on the meeting. I had the urge to say 'you're late' and throw in some smirk into it but I opted to let it be for now. There will be other opportunities. "It's been a few years, but I've been there. The Last City. That's what WICKED called it." Oh, the sentiment of that sentence. Let's remember the good old times. "It was their whole base of operations. If that city is still standing, that's the last place you wanna go, hermano." Oh great, another encouragement. "That's the lion's den." Woah, that had some effect.

But I still think that we should at least try. What can happen? We got WICKED down this time, we can do it the other time as well. No big deal.

"It's nothing we haven't done before," I said, shrugging slightly. But it seemed to be a trigger for Vince because he turned to me with some anger filling his eyes. The last time I saw him this ticked off was when we first brought Brenda in the camp of the Right Arm when she was infected.

"Yeah, with months of planning, and reliable information, the element of surprise, none of which we have now, Summer," Vince said sternly, looking me straight in the eyes.
