Chapter 27: Tuary

Nika's POV

"Where are we?" I asked. The car was driving through the woods, there wasn't even a trail anymore.

"Allen said he had a secret place he owned but that's the only thing he told me." Audric answered. I nodded and leaned my head at the back of the car, my feet are getting numb from staying on one position, I need to stretch later.

After a few minutes of driving in the woods and going down a hill, the car eventually stopped. The doors started to open and our friends came out with their weapons on.

"We need to walk from here, the car can't fit through the trees," Allen exclaimed. He locked the doors and walked towards the trunk. "Don't worry, no one knows this place it's my secret spot to hide from problems."

"How long will it take us to reach there? We still have to grab loot before sundown." Ashley asked. We all nodded in agreement with her question, Allen shook his head.

"It'll take less than 10 minutes, I promise." Allen reassured us. I jumped out of the truck as my bag hung loosely on my back, Chelsea scouted the area around us looking for any close contact zombies.

"Hey Audric and I can handle the body, we'll be right behind you." Asher made sure his bag is completely secure around his back, Audric grabbed one end of the tarpaulin while Asher grabbed the other end.

"C'mon Nika." Ashley softly gripped my arm and ushered me to follow Allen, Chelsea had her gun on the ready for any emergencies.

There were a lot of spiders, I'm not of scared but I don't like them touching me. God knows how many dirty things the spider has landed on. I smacked my arm to pry away the flies and mosquitoes, I looked down to my legs and saw a big tarantula crawling up.

"Ew! What the fuck!" I shrieked, I kicked the air to pry it off and after a few kicks it eventually came off my leg. I let out a sigh of relief, while I do, I notice all of them holding back their laughs.

"What?! I'm not scared of them alright? They just look disgusting." I reasoned out, they still had that stupid smirks on their faces making me roll my eyes.

"Nika spider!" Chelsea screamed and pointed somewhere near my stomach. I shrieked and jumped a few times to get it off without even looking at it, until I realised there was no spider and now they're all laughing at me.

"You're not scared, huh?" Ashley teased, I scoffed and continued to follow Allen beside the Stewart sisters while I kept glancing at the two boys behind us who look like having a great talk.

After a few minutes I notice that the path Allen was leading us to was slowly going down, it looked like we were going down a small cliff. It wasn't that steep so it wouldn't be hard for the two guys to carry the body down. Trees were around us and birds tweeted on the branches, I couldn't really see where we are heading to with all the trees around.

"Be careful." I heard Audric from behind me, I subtly nodded and held on branches as I walked.

As we reached the bottom, I couldn't process the place in my mind. There was a small garden with different kinds of plants and flowers, a little pond was beside it too. It looked like a small paradise, it didn't look like it was natural made it looked more like Man-made.

"I found this place when I was 15 year old, and ever since then I planted some plants and flowers to make it feel home-y. I actually named it Tuary short for sanctuary," Allen explains. He led us to the small garden with different kinds of beautiful flowers. "I love this place a lot, this is my comfort. And when you told us that you couldn't leave your sister rot inside a pharmacy, I thought that maybe you could use this place too."
