Chapter 18: New family

Reagan's POV

"Turn around Jillianne! We can't just leave them there!" I cried out, looking at the back of the car with Hadley preventing me from tackling Jillianne.

"Reagan we can't go back! We'll die if we do, didn't you see how many zombies there was?!" Jillianne exclaimed. I'm starting to get angry at Jillianne, I believe she left her friend there. She left my girlfriend there!

"So you'll let them die and be feasted by those zombies?! Nika's there, your bestfriend! Her sisters boyfriend was there too, even my bestfriend too! We left three people to die Jillianne!" I shouted angrily. Good thing Hadley was holding me back because if she wasn't I would've been ripping Jillianne to shreds.

"No they wouldn't die! I know Nika, even if she's alone she'll still survive. You know Asher, you know he'll do anything to survive and to save his friends. Audric will protect Nika since Karylle told him too!" Jillianne said as she continued to drive away. I huffed out frustratedly, I punched the back of the passenger seat causing Jillianne to flinch.

"That's fucked up! You will never know what's happening over there every second passing, all three of them could be feasted on right now!" I shouted. She shook her head and took a stop at the side of the road.

"I know but do we have enough ammo to take all those zombies? No, so we'll go back home and get them tomorrow." She said. I shook my head and gripped the passengers seats sides.

"No, we'll get ammos back home and get back here as soon as possible." I sternly said. Jillianne gulped and drove away. We all sat there awkwardly waiting until we reach the house.

Audric, Asher and Nika, please don't think we left you to die.

Nika's POV

"What should we do?" I asked. Asher placed through the store thinking of a way to get out of this store.

"Nika, was a there a window in the girls bathroom?" Asher asked. I nodded, he nodded and sat down on his knees opening his bag.

"Good thing I brought my bag with me, I have medicines and some ready-to-eat food. We'll stay here for a bit then we'll head out, the window's big enough to climb out of right?" Asher asked as he tossed me a pack of crackers and a bottled a water.

"Yeah, I'll fit in but I don't know about you guys, you guys are bulky." I said making both of them laugh. I bit into the cracker, not knowing I was so hungry earlier.

"Where do we go after this?" I asked. Asher looked puzzled and confused too, while Audric tried to think about something.

"I think when my friends, Karylle and I went to the mall earlier, we past this old abandoned building but it has big gate. It looked like it wasn't filled with zombies, we should head there before dark." Audric said. My face fell when she said my sister's name, they both saw my reaction which changed the aura of the room.

"What time do you think we'll get there?" I asked, pushing my sadness away. I need to survive like my sister said.

"Since it's already 4:48 PM, if we walk we'll get there by..." Audric paused doing the calculations on his head. "Approximately 5:30 PM."
