Chapter 15: Surprise

Nika's POV

"Can I come in?" I saw Hadley sitting on her bed near the window.

She had her knees up her chest and I got a glimpse of her blue eyes, they were red and puffy. She glanced at me and her eyes were filled with guilt, tears fell from her eyes and rolled down her cheeks. I walked up to her and hugged her, she hugged me back tightly.

She sobbed, I rubbed her back up and down trying to calm her down. I whispered reassuring words to make her feel better. She grasped the side of my shirt and dugged her face on my neck.

"I'm sorry, I really am so sorry Nika." She sobbed. I sighed and nodded.

"It's okay Hadley." I exclaimed as she sniffed.

After a minute of hugging and comforting Hadley, she eventually stopped crying. She slowly pulled away and looked away from my eyes. I held her hand and squeezed it softly, she looked at me with her dull blue eyes.

"Tell me, why did you do that?" I asked her. She sighed and nodded at me, she patted beside her and I scooted there.

"I got...jealous of Reagan, because everything that I want she always get it. Then you came, I immediately liked you but I started noticing that you've been closer to Reagan and always spending time with her," She paused and sighed trying to find the right words she need, I held her hand and squeezed it reassuringly. "I came to a conclusion that, she already got your heart. I got mad because she got what wanted again."

Tears started to well up her eyes, I scooted near her and wrapped my arm around her shoulder. I rubbed her shoulder calming her again, still holding her hand reassuringly.

"Kissing you forcefully, wasn't really my intention. I was just going to talk you about my feelings but my feelings got the best of me. Reagan knocked some sense to me and I realised that you would never reciprocate the feelings I have for you," She looked at me and smiled softly. "Ryza and Asher said that these feelings I have is probably just infatuation, I would see the way you look at her."

"You look at her like she is the most beautiful woman you've ever seen, you're in love with her. That's why I've decided to back off and push these feelings down." She said. Am I in love with Reagan? I heard Hadley laugh and I looked at her confusedly.

"You're confused if you love her or not, but I can assure you, you do love her." She exclaimed. She wiped the tear stains on her cheeks and smiled at me widely. 

"You know Hadley, don't hurry on finding love. Everything happens on their own time, you'll get everything when it's the right time. Okay?" I said. She nodded and squeezed my hand.

"Can you do me a favor?" Hadley asked. I slowly nodded and furrowed my eyebrows.

"Kiss me."

Reagan's POV

All of my friends has been teasing me about Nika and I love it. I stuffed my face with a nugget and chewed it, I dranked water and placed it down. I wonder what happened to their talk.
