(Y/N)'s P.O.V.
"I feel like something's wrong..."
At the sound of (F/N) muttering to himself, I glanced at him, seeing a worried, and confused, expression on his face; it was only on his face for a second before soon being replaced with a smile as he shrugged, any hint of worry gone from his form. "Eh, it's probably not important... anyways, what's the plan?"
(F/N) looked at me, raising an eyebrow. Right! We need some form of plan! Even the bare bones of one!
"First years!" Midnight called out, directing my attention over to her again, though my eyes focused on the holographic screen she was gesturing to with her short, multi-tailed whip, "These are the rules you'll abide by! The game itself will last fifteen minutes! Individual point values will be added together to reach your team total!"
That meant that (F/N) and I were worth fifteen points together. That's so low! Especially since there are people who are worth, like, fifty points by themselves!
"Everyone will know how much you're worth thanks to your headbands!" Midnight continued as the holographic screen displayed visuals to better illustrate what she was telling us, "Swipe as many headbands as you can to raise your team's score! Stolen headbands must be worn from the neck up! So, the more you steal, the harder it'll be to manage them! And another thing... even if your headband gets stolen or your team falls down, you can keep playing 'til times up!"
I felt a hand touch my shoulder, making me look to see (F/N) smiling at me. "Hey! You know what that means?"
"...that we have a chance to not totally fail during the first minute?"
"Exactly!"
A small giggle left my lips at (F/N)'s enthusiastic answer, and the goggles-wearing boy used his free hand to shoot me with a finger-gun, even adding a small sound effect with his voice. He's such a pure soul! How can he be so pure in this day and age?!
"This is going to be rough!" Midnight gently snapped her whip, gesturing out to the students. "You may use your Quirks as much as you like, but... there are still rules. Make a team fall on purpose, and I'll slap you with a red card!
She snapped her whip again. "You'll be disqualified!"
A timer appeared on the holographic screen behind Midnight. Fifteen minutes to form a team?! That's longer than I was expecting! I was thinking we'd have, like, five minutes or so...
"Now, you've got fifteen minutes to build your teams! I recommend you get started!"
With that, the students around us began chatting away with others, obviously trying to figure out who to team up with, and it was time for (F/N) and I to start scouting for a potential third party member; due to our lack of powerful Quirks, as far as anyone knew when it came to my abilities, it was going to be very unlikely that anyone was going to want to be on a team with us, and I had to make sure to keep that in mind. I don't want to accidentally force someone to join our team by thinking about it too hard...
I noticed as a good amount of my classmates seemed to crowd about Bakugo, which set most of them out of my list of possible teammates, since it was clear that they really wanted to progress in the festival. Whoever he teams up with will be pretty lucky...
Turning to (F/N), I clapped my hands together. "Alright, so, if we even want to think about moving on, we need to find-"
"Well, looky who it is!" A voice said from behind me, making me jump before I turned around to see a foreign-looking girl standing there, her gaze focused on (F/N), "Ah cain't believe ya made it en tah the hero course, sugar! When ah first saw ya back when we were all ennering the stadium, ah wasn't even shore it was you! It must be 'cause of thet fancy-schmancy eyewear ya got on yore face!"
