(Y/N)'s P.O.V.
"Okay, smile for the camera, and... got it!"
As I pulled my arm back towards me, I looked at the latest picture I had taken on my phone; after (F/N) had finished up his grand tour of the agency, I decided to update (G/N) on what was going on, and I thought that the best way to go about it was to send her a picture of (F/N) and me in our costumes, with the sign that stated the agency's name in the background.
While I wasn't one to normally take selfies, I thought that this turned out pretty good.
"How does it look, (F/N)?" I asked, showing the screen to him, "Pretty good? Pretty bad? ...decent?"
(F/N) put a finger to his chin, letting out a small hum. "Well, even though I don't really know a lot about picture-taking, I think that looks okay. You gonna send it now?"
I nodded, before navigating to my messages, and setting up a message to send with the picture.
After taking a moment to decide what to say, I typed out my message, and hit send. "Just hanging out at the agency 'til sundown. Hope you and Shinso are having more fun than we are!"... I think that's a good message, right?
I waited a moment for any sort of reply, only for nothing to show up.
(G/N) must be busy doing something else, which was understandable; she couldn't be glued to her phone every hour of the day, and most of our texting happened before and after school. When I glanced at the time, I realized that there was still an hour or so before school let out for the day. That meant that I could expect to be bombarded with messages later, which would probably be a good way to pass the time before our "transitioning to a nocturnal schedule" began.
As I put my phone away, safely tucking it into one of the pockets of my satchel, I looked to (F/N) again.
"So... what now?"
My best friend just stared at me, before shrugging. "I dunno."
"Really?" I raised an eyebrow, a small frown on my face. "What did you do when you spent the day here, instead of with me because I was, uh, resting? You specifically called someone to come bring you here, so that you wouldn't be bored."
"Yes, that's true," (F/N) said, nodding towards me, "But, back then, there were more sidekicks on the day shift. Because of recent events, I think most of them have been transitioned over to the night shift, so this place is functioning more like a sleepover than a hero agency. Sure, there's always a lot of sleeping people here, but it's... usually not this boring."
I glanced around the empty lobby, before plopping down on one of the chairs near the covered windows.
My best friend sat down in one of the chairs next to me, leaning back into it as he could.
The resulting silence of our paused conversation was almost eerie, especially when combined with the fact that there was hardly anyone else awake in this entire building. The curtains concealing the windows made it a little worse, since they blocked any natural light from coming into the lobby, giving the agency a late-night feel, even in the afternoon.
"...uh, I'm gonna go to the bathroom." (F/N) stood up from his seat. "I'll be right back."
"Alright, don't die."
(F/N) let out a small laugh, before he snapped his fingers in mock-disappointment. "Shoot. There goes my plans."
As a giggle passed my lips from my best friend's actions, I watched him head out of the lobby, and I tried to remember where the bathrooms were in the agency, but I still wasn't as familiar with this place as I would like to be.
