Never Too Late to Learn Something New

(Y/N)'s P.O.V.

"Alright, put your pencils down."

At the sound of Aizawa's voice, I glanced up at him, seeing him stand behind the podium at the front of the classroom, before I returned my gaze to my paper; even though I was confident that I did well, thanks to all the studying I did, it was still easy for me to feel a little doubtful about my work. Don't worry, me! You did great! You're super good at written exams!

The lack of confidence I was feeling at the very end of the three-day written exam might have come from how mentally tired I was, since, as expected, it was harder than any of the tests we had taken before.

But, since I had filled my head with knowledge beforehand, there was absolutely no way that I didn't do well on it.

I noticed that my grip on my pencil was tight, and I loosened it as I laid it on my desk, following Aizawa's instruction.

"The last person in each row, bring the answer sheets to me."

As the students who sat in the back did as he said, I noticed as Ashido and Kaminari got up from their seats, and went over to Yaoyorozu, who was collecting her row's papers. Well, they seem quite happy...!

Ashido had her arms in the air, and a smile on her face. "Thanks so much for all your help!"

"I didn't leave anything blank, at least!" Kaminari said, giving Yaoyorozu a thumbs-up.

While Yaoyorozu was surprised from the sudden thanks, she eventually let a smile onto her face, seeming pretty happy her classmates thought they did well from her help; it even made a smile come to my face, since I enjoyed seeing everyone around me in a good mood. Yay! Happiness! It's always welcome!

However, my smile faltered a little as those two turned towards me, but came back as I noticed them smiling at me.

"You too, (L/N)!" Ashido said, bringing her arms down to match her chest level, "That one-on-one stuff really helped!"

Kaminari just sent a thumbs-up my way, still smiling as he nodded.

I felt my face grow warm from their thanks, and just gave them a smile before I turned to face my desk; my hands were fists as they sat on my lap, but I flattened them out as I relaxed myself. You should be used to getting thanked, me! ...but, no matter how much it happens, it just makes me feel happy to have helped people!

Seeing movement from the corner of my eye, I glanced over to (F/N), seeing him stare at me through his goggles.

He had a smile present on his face, and he gave me a small nod, seeming to silently say that I did good.

I returned his nod with one of my own, before sitting up straight as I felt determined to face the next challenge that the final exam held with all that I had; it may have just been from the rush of joy caused by Ashido's and Kaminari's delight from finishing the written portion, but I was going to do my best to hold onto this feeling for as long as I could. A person does do a lot better when in a good mood... or, at least, I tend to do better!

With a happy heart and determined attitude, I felt ready to participate in the physical portion of the final exam.

It may be difficult for me to deal with robots, but that was why I made plans for it; my pole was an excellent tool to use against them, since Video had showed me how to use one to bust inside a machine and mess them up.

All I needed to do was find an opening, and strike my pole into it, before wiggling it inside to cause damage.

For (F/N)'s plans, I was less sure of what his methods should be, besides tripping the giant machines, similar to what I believed he did during the Entrance Exam, but he said that he had talked to his father about dealing with enemies who were bigger, stronger, and more durable than he was. My best friend didn't really tell me what Audio had told him, but I guess that it would be nice to be surprised about what he had learned from his father. And (F/N) hardly gets to show off, so it'll be nice for him to be able to do that...!
