(Y/N)'s P.O.V.
"Come on, you can do it, (F/N). All you need to do is-" I watched as (F/N) tried putting his fork in his mouth, only to end up smearing the sauce of the pasta wrapped around the utensil around his mouth. "...not that. You don't do that."
(F/N) eventually got the pasta in his mouth, and chewed it as he shrugged. "Well, I got it in, so..."
"That might've made a good excuse if you were wearing your blindfold, but you're not," I said, crossing my arms as I let out a small huff, "There's no excuse right now for your, frankly, messy eating habits. You can see the fork, which means that it should be easier to get the fork into your mouth, without smearing your lunch all over your face."
"Sorry, but I'm not used to hand-eye coordination when eating."
I let out a sigh, gently slamming my hands on the table. "Don't give me that! You've eaten when you can see before!"
"Yeah, but that was food that I can use my hands to eat with, not this four-pronged cheek-stabber," (F/N) said, stabbing the air around him with the fork, before raising an eyebrow, "Honestly, I'm kind of surprised that I haven't injured myself with this thing before, since I tend to do poorly with sharp objects."
All I could do was let out a small huff, before the sound of giggling made me look across the lunch table.
There sat Ashido, who was excitedly glancing between (F/N) and me, while our four other classmates simply smiled at the scene before them; after having gotten our desired lunches, (F/N) and I had found two free seats side-by-side at a table where Ashido, Yaoyorozu, Jiro, and Hagakure were sitting. At least, I assume Hagakure is smiling... or is amused...
"You two... are just the absolute cutest!" Ashido said, seeming to bounce in her seat, "You're like the perfect couple!"
I froze at Ashido's words, and noticed (F/N) do the same, his fork with newly-twirled pasta on it paused in front of his mouth. Hey, it looks like he would've made it in one go if he didn't stop...!
"Tell me, you two must be dating, right?" Ashido continued, not seeming to notice our reactions, though I could see the other girls' smiles have a hint of confusion as they glanced at us, "I knew that when you said you were best friends, it must have been something more! By the way, you still need to tell me about how you both met! It was probably something like a meet-cute from a romantic movie, wasn't it?"
(F/N) broke out of his shock, letting out a long sigh as he moved his pasta-wrapped fork from his mouth.
"We aren't a thing, Ashido," (F/N) said, seeming to pause for a while as a look of thought came onto his face, "...why do I feel like I've said that to someone before?"
He shook his head, re-focusing on the pink girl sitting across from me. "But, yeah, we are not dating."
"Come on, really?" Ashido asked, a small frown on her face as she gestured to us, "B-but, you two are always together, and you seem to really know each other, and... and..."
I let out a small giggle, catching everyone's attention while I smiled at Ashido. "That's 'cause we're best friends."
A small noise of defeat came from Ashido as she settled back into her seat, seeming quite down that we had stripped her of her romance goggles, but I could swear I heard her muttering to herself about "the perfect couple" and "just hiding all of your feelings for each other". ...should I be concerned about that? Eh, probably not...
