Five months later ....

Five months have passed since the day I proposed to Amy and I am proud to tell you that the long awaited day had finally arrived and I was very nervous, which is usual because it is my wedding day.

However, first I want to tell you about the process of preparing for this great ceremony, which we had the help of our families. To tell you the truth, I never thought it would take so much work to organize a wedding, but the truth is that you have to do a lot of things. The first step was to arrange a place for the ceremony and another for the wedding reception, and after we had them, we had to choose a date that coincided with the availability of both.

However for this task we had a great help from my mother, because she spoke to my grandmother who has a beautiful house with a huge garden and she gave us her space to make our wedding, that is, we already had the space necessary for both the ceremony and the wedding reception. The only thing we had to do was find a priest and after we did, we reached the 26th of January!

After that, we went on to the next step, which was to make the list of guests who were going to attend our wedding and say that in this task we didn't even have a lot of headaches, because both Amy and I always said from the beginning that we wanted a more private ceremony with only our closest family and friends. After writing the names of all the people we remember, we saw that we had 38 people.

With the number of guests and the date and place where our wedding was going to be, we moved on to making the wedding invitations, which arrived in our hands three weeks after we had ordered them. The next step would be to get a pastry chef to make our wedding cake and a team of photographers. As for the photographers, we had a little help from one of Amy's cousins, who works in a photo studio and managed to get us two photographers and a videomaker, at an affordable price.

Regarding the pastry chef, we tried lots of possible wedding cakes and, fortunately, it didn't take us long to find the ideal one for us. The next step, and one of the most important, was to buy our wedding clothes and in my case I still had to buy our wedding rings.

As a shopping companion I selected a fantastic group of phenomenal people that included my uncles Ralph, Cisco and Harry, Amy's father and my parents. I know that it is not usual for the bride and groom's mothers to accompany them, as they will usually accompany the bride when choosing the dress, but in my case my mother was an indispensable companion. Since I was little, my mother and I have a special bond and I am sure that there is no better person to help me with this task than she.

To choose our suits we went through all the wedding shops that were in the shopping center and until now I was not finding anything that I liked. However, it was at the last store we needed to enter, that I found the ideal suit. While I tried on the suit I had chosen, my companions were going to look for some suit for them to wear on my special day.

We already had the preparations all in advance and we just needed a very important step, which was to choose our groomsmen or bridesmaids. In the case of Amy the choice was not very difficult because she had a person in mind from the beginning, but in my case the choice was more complicated. We took advantage of the fact that we were going to have a family lunch to announce who our choices would be for this important position.

- Taking advantage of the fact that they are all here, Henry and I have something important to ask two people. Stacey, will you do me the honor of being my maid of honor?

- Seriously? Of course, it would be an honor.- Stacey replied smiling and went to hug her cousin.

- I already had a very complicated decision because I have several people who could easily complete this post, however for this role I chose ... Dawn. What do you say, sis? Do you want to be my maid of honor?
