"please make sure you make this correctly, you will be testing the potions out and i don't want to be sending some of you to infirmary. so please make sure to not mess up." the professor muses as he walks around the room observantly. katherine smiles at her partner, emma vanity, a fellow slytherin, who happened to be the quidditch team captain.

"can i ask you something?" emma asks, making katherine nod with a hum as she gathers all the necessary to make the potion. "why is it that the marauders haven't stopped looking at us while trying to hide their amusement?"

"what?" katherine breaths out as she looks up to see sirius smirking at her, with a wink and her face turns pale as she realises they were up to no good. she looks down at all her stuff and she knows that if she mixes the ingredients for the potions, something will go wrong. she looks back up with a glare and he shrugs innocently.

"is everything alright, avery?" the professor asks, making her look up at him and smile innocently.

"everything is perfectly fine, professor." she lies and emma raises an eyebrow questioningly, not believing her lie.

"okay, what's going on?" emma asks in confusion, and katherine takes a deep breath as she prepares herself to explain the situation.

"okay, so remember the incident with mckinnon's robes in the great hall?" katherine asks her and emma nods, her eyes widening as she realises that katherine had something to do it with. "consider today payback. but i'm not letting them succeed."

"what are you going to do?" emma asks, and katherine smirks as she thinks it over. she looks over at the boys, who are now busy doing their own work and notices a flask sitting on the edge of the table.

"i'm going to need your help. could you distract them, while i do something?" katherine asks, and emma nods with a grin. katherine takes a glance at the professor to make sure, he's not paying attention and pulls her wand out. "locomotor."

she watches as the flask slowly falls to the floor, making the four jump to their feet as the professor turns around and glares at the boys. her heart beat increases as she fears that her plan might not workout, but as she watches the professor stomp his way to them, a small smirk forms on her lips. the professor scolds them and then tells them to go fetch a new flask, all four go to do so.

katherine nods at emma, who smirks and both part. katherine takes all the flasks and brings them to their desk, before taking their flasks and bringing them back to her desk. she turns to look at emma, to see her blocking their way much to their annoyance, but when emma sees katherine has returned, she moves away and goes back to her seat.

"i hope this works." emma chuckles, making katherine nod in agreement as she starts working on her potion. she mixes her potions, glancing every second towards the boys, who seem unaware of what happened. she looks up as she sees james pour the last flask in and her breath gets caught at the back of her throat, before pink smoke puffs out the cauldron right into his face. katherine puts a hand over her mouth as she looks at emma and they high five as the professor once again stomps his way towards a now pink faces james, clearly annoyed. sirius turns to glare at her and she shrugs innocently as she goes back to her potion.  "i guess the gryffindor rule is over."

"oh, we're only getting started, emma. we're about to dethrone them." katherine smirks as she looks up at them one last time, before finishing her work.
