"so what are your plans for the summer holidays?" peter asks katherine, who looks up with a smile, as she closes her last bags. before she can reply, she feels someone wrap their arms around her over her shoulders.

"she's coming home with james and i." sirius answers as he rests his chin on top of her head. it had been a month since the incident with her brother and severus. while joseph was thrown into azkaban, severus was able to get away with his meddling with only detention.

"and then she'll come visit me, if sirius even lets her go for a second." lily says as she gives him a pointed look, making katherine chuckle softly. lily made a point, for the past month, sirius wouldn't let her out of sight for a second and it had become a whole battle for her to even be able to go back to her room.

"we'll come visit." sirius says and lily rolls her eyes at him with an amused smile. katherine tilts her head backwards to look up at him and he kisses her forehead, before leaning forward and pecking her lips.

"leave them be, lily. you're just jealous because you want what they have with me." james says, making lily playfully glare at him and shake her head, as a blush tints her cheeks.

"don't worry, lils. i'll figure a way to come see you without sirius. even if i have to hex him." katherine says as she looks at lily, who grins as sirius gasps.

"you're picking her over me?" sirius asks katherine in disbelief, making her giggle as she turns around and wraps her arms around him.

"i would." james says dreamily, making katherine and sirius look at each other in amusement. remus walks into the room with wide grin and katherine looks at him questioningly.

"we should go to the public muggle library and make fun of all their books on wizardry." remus says, making the two girls look at each other with a wide grin and nod in agreement.

"that sounds boring." peter hums as he leans back in the chair, as james walks past him and ruffles his hair. sirius snickers and leans down to whisper something in katherine's ears.

"or you could forget about all of their plans and spend the whole summer with me, in one room with a silencing spell." he whispers, his lips brushing against her ear and she bites her lip as a blush rises to her cheek.

"you're an absolute dog, sirius." she says teasingly, making him chuckle as he straightens up and looks down at her.

"i know. but you love it." he says, making her roll her eyes playfully.

"debatable." she giggles and pushes herself up, kissing his lips. he smirks, as a hand moves from her waist to her jaw and the nape of her neck. they're interrupted as a piece of clothes hits katherine in the side, making her pull away and look at the culprit, to see lily grinning sheepishly.

"stop making out and help me with this." lily says, as she opens katherine's wardrobe. the slytherin girl, chuckles and shakes her head, before pulling away from sirius and walking up to her best friend. as she looks into the wardrobe, she huffs as it's filled with robes and uniforms, except for three gowns. lily pulls out a green gown and holds it up to katherine, before smirking. "merlin's beard. this one is beautiful."

"thank you. i'm not even sure why i got it. my father used to like throwing random balls. i suppose that's why i had so many gowns. left most of them behind. don't know why i kept this one." katherine muses as she takes the gown and looks at it, before putting it back.

"i wish we could have a ball. i've heard american muggle schools have them, during their last year." lily says, making katherine smile at how excited lily sounds. "if only we could have one."

"we could do our own mini ball. when we come back, we can ask minerva if we can make one between us or we could do it without asking. i rather the latter." james suggests, making the two girls turn to look at the boys to see remus, james and sirius all sprawled over katherine's bed.

"you really need to stop calling her by her first name." remus says, making james wave him off in a dismissive manner.
