4 Years later...
ALEXUS
I sat at the drivers seat. Staring at the wheels trying hard not to grip the console. I can't cry. I don't want to be weak. Not in front of the girl I love.
Warm hand enveloped mine. I can't help but to stare at the eyes that once captured my heart, body, and soul. The same eyes that brought me to the highest of heights and lowest of depths.
I smiled. Why am I even crying?
"Daddy please don't cry. Mommy will get mad."
Alexia Morzette Mardoni. My four years old daughter. My unica ija. Her eyes are the exact photocopy of her mother.
She's smart, bold, carefree, brave, and beautiful like my wife. They have the same soft features.
I smiled.
"Who's crying?
She made a cute "whatever" face.
I jokingly warned her and pinch her cute chubby cheek.
Nanlaki ang mga mata niya sabay ngumuso. I sighed at her cuteness.
"Give Daddy a kiss before we go to Mommy."
She smiled and obliged, giving me tiny kiss on my cheek.
I drove past the famous architecture and streets of France. It was that fateful night in the auction when I met the woman who will turn my world upside down. Completely turning the tables. Never in my life, after the accident happened, I played with every girls heart. I lived with the guilt that whenever I try to love someone, laging kukunin sakin o kaya naman ay ilalayo.
"Do you think this will fit in her?" I asked Aria as we shop for our baby's clothes.
I'm glad that my brother decided to live with us.
"Alex kaka-one year old niya pa lang. Pang six years old na yang hawak mo!" she sighed.
Those were just one of the days I'm excited to buy things for our princess. There were also times that I get Aria to some romantic dinners and dates.
I loosened my necktie. Choosing Aria means choosing my freedom.
Its a matter of choosing things that will make you happy. Things that will make your life worth living and I chose this path with her. If losing Aria and gaining the whole world, I might let myself die.
