FAN IT UP 2:

Dedicated to Lucija-Directioner for this amazing version of the epilogue
~***~

10 years later.

"Mom?'' Lissa called me out.

She was sitting on her bedroom floor, holding some of old albums.

I sat next to her. She lifted her head, with her dark eyes sparkling of interest. I tucked a small piece of her red hair behind her ear.

"What is it, Lissa?'' I ask, placing my hand on her shoulder.

She looked down on a photo in her hand and then back on me. "Can you tell me about her?" she asks carefully. "The girl I was named after." she explained in excitement.

I nodded my head, with a smile appearing on my face. "Aston!" I called out, and I could hear him walking down the hallway. He peaked in. "Come in. She wants to hear about Melissa." I explain and he enters, sitting on her other side.

"Melissa was my foster sister. She was, the most amazing girl on the world, after your mother, of course." He laughed to himself. "She was caring, loving, defensive and simply beautiful. We both loved her."

I saw his eyes watered, and felt mine doing the same.

"What happened to her?" Lissa placed her head on my shoulder as I petted her hair.

"People can be terrible, honey. But people can also be amazing. She risked everything for the ones she loved. She would love you, you know?" I smiled widely.

"She would?"

I nodded to her. A smile spread on her small face. "You remind me of her so much." I wiped a tear from my cheek. "Yeah. Especially with your huge curiosity." Aston added.

She laughed and showed me a picture she was holding.

It was Melissa, on the beach. Her dress was wet, but she had a smile on her gorgeous face. I remember that day like it happened 5 seconds ago.

"Mom, where is Auntie Melissa now?" she asked yawning.

"She's an angel, honey." I simply said and kissed her forehead.

She smelled like Melissa did.

I opened the closet, and took out Melissa's dress, from the vacation we took together.

I handed it over to Lissa. "When you grow a bit you can wear it... We know she'd love that." She grabbed it and twirled with the dress in her hands. She kissed both mine and Aston's cheek and left the room, running out cheerfully.

I sat back next to Aston. He wrapped his hand around me and looked at me. "I love you. Like, a lot." he softly kissed me.

I gave him a small smile. "Like I didn't know that." I laughed. "But, I love you too." I kissed him back and then placed my head on his chest, listening how his heart beated.

He kissed the top of my head, holding me even closer. "She was always with us... In a way." He explained. And I knew he was right this time. I nodded my head in agreement. "Yeah. She always will be."

We sat in total silence for couple of minutes.

"You know that 'Till death tear us apart'?" I ask.

He raised an brow and nodded his head. "Well I disagree." I pouted. "It can't tear us apart. We're soil mates. That bond is unbreakable." I explained.

He smiled and kissed me one more time. This time with more passion. With more love. "I love you. I love your imperfections. I love your scars." He touched one of them.

"I love your mistakes. I love your choices. I love your morning smiles and your hair. I love our small talks and our moments. Every one of them. And yes, this certainly is love. The best one in my life. The only one." He smiled. "I know... And there are things, that were bad and wrong. Some things could of happened." I imagined Melissa holding a green-eyed baby, feeling my eyes tearing up. "And things that actually happened, which shouldn't..." A picture of dead Melissa popped in my head and shivers passed my body. "But sacrifice had to be taken. Like my scars. If it wasn't for them, we wouldn't have met..." I explained. He touched one of my scars, on my cheek. "They are beautiful scars..."
