Q:
Hi Katlyn, how are you today?

A:
I'm good! Thanks for asking!

Q:
Beautiful Scars is about a girl who is covered in burn scars, why did you chose to write about this specific topic?

A:
I have always felt strongly about how people use beauty as a way to see through people, when in reality, beauty isn't someone; it's a factor of someone. Life is more than just beauty, and I wanted my readers to understand that.

Q:
That's a beautiful response! Is there a specific reason to why you feel so deeply about this topic?

A:
I, in my opinion, feel that I am not the prettiest person, and understand what it feels like to be teased, since I have hearing problems and have to use an amplifier device. I guess I just always felt like people should matter, even if they aren't alike to anyone else..

Q:
Do you plan on writing more to their story, or just that one book?

A:
I actually have two ideas. My original one was to have two more installments, both nonrelated to Sophia, but related to tragic events. The second idea was to continue with Sophia's life, but I highly doubt I'll do that one.

Q:
When writing the story, did you plan all your chapters or just let the story lead you?

A:
I actually planned it all out from the beginning. It took me a while to figure it out though

Q:
For the emotional scenes, where did you draw inspiration from? Did you find any scene hard to write?

A:
I actually knew someone who was going through a hard time. He lost his mom, and when I was writing those scenes, I tried to imagine what he was going through. Any scene hard to write? A few.

Q:
Did you ever get writers block, if so, how did you pass it?

A:
Funny story: While planning the story, I had writer's block and I hadn't even published it yet! And to deal with it, I normally just think for a few minutes or days until it hits me

Q:
That leads well onto my next question! What specific scenes did you enjoy writing in the novel?

A:
I enjoyed writing the suspenseful scenes and, of course, the cute, gushy romance scenes with Aston and Sophia.
