Hey guys!! It's Katlyn! I hope you guys enjoyed the sneak preview of "As Fortune Would Have It..." I noticed that more and more people are reading this story and voting, which makes me SOO happy! At first, literally, no one read this story. Now, it scares me to know that I'm almost at 14K! Wow, that still feels weird to write, and even think about.
Anyway, I have a question that I hope you guys answer before I start the chapter.
Would any of you guys feel up to interviewing me about this story?

I woke up the next morning like usual. Well, as usual as I could while being grounded. I got up, showered, brushed my teeth, and put on my clothes. As I walked down the steps, I thought about my attitude. Should I be bitchy as usual that way she won't suspect anything, or should I act nice for once? I mean, I wanted her to let me go to Aston's house later to discuss a game plan, and I knew she was never going to let me go if I was rude and grouchy.

As expected, Mrs. Tilly sat parent-like at the table and I fought the urge to say something sarcastic. I bit my lip and went to the icebox, opening it and grabbing a jug of orange juice. I grabbed a cup with my left hand and twisted the lid with the other. After I poured some into the glass and chugged half of it, I dropped it on the counter and let out a refreshing sigh, wiping the orange juice off of my top lip. I cleared my throat and let a smile cover my face. "Good morning! Isn't it a good morning? Isn't it? Isn't it?!" I said chipperly. God, I sounded like a hyper squirrel. Hope she buys it..

She gave me a raised eyebrow and said nothing, but opened the door and exited outside, starting the car.

That could only mean one thing. I was in.

I walked out of first hour, biting my lip as I saw who was waiting for me. Aston was across the hallway, leaning on a locker, his hair in his face as he stared at the ground. God, he looked sexy. And that's not something I can say about anyone.

He looked up as I reached him, a smile lighting up his facial features. "Hey," he said as I reached him.

Instead of answering, I bit my lip, and grabbed his neck, bringing him closer to me. I kissed his lips and felt a blush creep on my cheeks as he gripped the small of my back tightly.

"No P.D.A. in the hallway!" Someone shouted.

I pushed away from Aston, breathing hard and turned around. Matthew was staring at us, eyebrows raised and arms crossed over his chest. I looked back at Aston and grabbed his hand, then turned back to Matthew.

"It's okay, Matthew. We all know you're just jealous..."

Matthew scoffed, Aston laughed, and as we walked away, heading to next hour, I casually gave him the finger.

After the hour finished, I waited outside the classroom, searching for Aston. After the last person had exited, that's when I knew something was wrong. He left without me. My shoulders slumped at this recognition, and I started walking towards the lunchroom, pouting. Just before I turned the corner, a hand yanked me back, and I whipped around, ready to strike.

"Don't kill me, now."

I sighed in relief. "Aston, don't do that. You scared the daylights out of me."

He laughed, then turned serious. "After you're finished eating, meet me at the library. We have to talk."

With that, he walked away, and I watched as went, curiosity sitting in the pit of my stomach.

Exactly five seconds later, I walked in the library, searching for Aston. I smiled as I found him sitting alone at one of the little tables, his head buried in a book. As soon as I pushed the chair back, he jumped and looked up, recognizing me. "Why are you here?" He asked.

"I thought you wanted me here.." I quipped.

"Well, I do remember saying that you should eat first. And there's no way you ate that fast."

I shrugged. "I wasn't hungry."

He furrowed his eyebrows. "You need to eat something."

"But I'm not hungry."

He smacked his lips and mumbled, "So stubborn. After this, I swear, I'm ditching next block to take you to McDonald's."

I grinned. "What was that?" I asked, smirking.

He blushed, then cleared his throat. "Nothing.."

"Okay, so, um, did you look up the stuff?"

"Yeah, that's what I wanted to talk to you about. I did get the stuff. I found out that he's leaving tomorrow for questioning. And I got his address."

"Great! So we can go tomorrow?"

"Listen, Sophia, I've been thinking. This is too dangerous."

"What do you mean?"

"I don't think you should do this. You could get hurt."

"Aston, I promise I won't." I pleaded, kissing his hand.

He shook his head. "But that's the thing, you can't promise that. You don't know if you'll be okay. I've already lost three people I care about. I'm not losing another."

I shook my head, mimicking his movements. "I understand that. I've lost people too. And I'm doing this for them. You can help if you want, but I'm still doing it either way."

He was silent for a moment, then he let out a long sigh. "Okay. I'll help, but only on one condition."

I raised my eyebrow in question.

He grinned. "Let me buy you something from McDonald's."
