A Different World (HUNTER X HUNTER)

♡It's cold outside♡ (side chapter/christmas special)

"(Y/N) can you be a dear and help me set up the table?~"

The tall magician asked (Y/N) who was on the floor with her wooden toys. She glanced up and said,
"Sure"

She got up and began clearing the table, removing any papers and making the pot of poinsettia look nicer. The table was clean, decorated with a dark red table cover. Hisoka walked next to her and handed her a stack of three plates. (Y/N) organized each chair to have a plate and set up silverware. The apartment had a savory smell of cooking. Hisoka had a chicken in the oven and a pot of boiling potatoes on the stove.

There was a single knock on the door, Hisoka smiled and signaled (Y/N) to open the door. She made her way to the white door and opened it, revealing the tall long haired Illumi. He had a crock pot in his hands, a small metal tray covered in a layer of aluminum balancing on top. He looked down,
"Hello (Y/N)"

He greeted, earning a small wave from the short girl. Hisoka came up to the door and teased,
"I didn't expect you to actually come by~"
"Father gave us all a mission, naturally I finished first and asked the butlers for help on what to bring"

Hisoka smiled as he welcomed Illumi inside. Illumi placed the food he brought on the counter and looked around, the place wasn't really decorated. There was Christmas lights hanging around the apartment that shined white and a tint of yellow, but that was almost it. He looked towards the Morows, Hisoka wearing an ugly brightly colored knit sweater with a red Saint Nicholas hat. (Y/N) wore a deer headband with a brown knit sweater. Illumi looked at his own attire black dress pants, a cream turtleneck, black shoes, and a black jacket. What a weird holiday to celebrate, his family didn't celebrate but it was almost satisfying to watch the two siblings prepare the apartment. It almost didn't make sense.

(Y/N) stood on a chair to reach at the things Illumi brought,
"What did you and the butlers make?"

She asked out of curiosity, Illumi walked over and pointed at the crock pot,
"This is mac and cheese. This is..."

He lifted the foil from the tray and said,
"(F/F)"

(Y/N) had a small smile on her face, Illumi taken back a bit. Behind them, Hisoka stood there with a big smile on his face. Seeing the two getting along. Hisoka patted (Y/N)'s back and said,
"(Y/N)~ I believe you picked out a hat and sweater for Illumi"

Illumi was confused as (Y/N) jumped off the chair and went to the coffee table, she picked up a thin cardboard box and walked back to the two adults. She handed the box to Illumi, who was still confused. He opened the box and pulled out a hat similar to Hisoka's but it was black instead of red. He placed the hat aside and held out a black knit sweater, decorated with white x and cross patterns. He looked at Hisoka and back at (Y/N). They realized and told Illumi,
"You're supposed to take off your jacket and put it on!~"

Hisoka explained, Illumi began to take off his jacket and set it on a chair. Illumi puts on the sweater and realizes it's a little too big on him. (Y/N) was about to apologize for getting the wrong size, but Illumi already slipped on the black sweater. The sleeves were long enough that it made Illumi pull up his sleeves, the sweater itself was almost falling off his shoulders. Hisoka noticed and assured (Y/N),
"That's all right. Illumi likes his clothes a little too big for him~ now we should all take a seat, the foods ready"

Hisoka led the two towards the table and sat them down, although (Y/N) offered to help her brother out in which he kindly declined. (Y/N) turned to Illumi, who sat still with his arms hanging from the sides of his chair,
"I feel bad (Y/N), I didn't get you a present"

Illumi suddenly blurted out, his face not expressing what he was saying, that was Illumi. (Y/N) waved her hands a bit and assured Illumi,
"Oh no, it's fine. It was unexpected"

Hisoka finished placing the pot on the table, with a black towel to prevent burning the table,
"Feel free to grab what you like~"

Hisoka announced as he removed the lid from the pot, letting the hot steam pour out.

As the three were eating, there was a comfortable silence between them. The only noise that were made came from their utensils and music played from the other apartments. (Y/N) looked out at the window, watching the snow fall gently as the muffled blasting music was dying out.

Unbeknownst to (Y/N) this would be the last time the three would celebrate together. Hisoka would begin to live in Heavens arena after surpassing the 200th floor. Illumi would be given more missions involving higher ups, forcing him to not visit. (Y/N) would be getting more involved with the phantom troupe, mostly accompanying Machi, Pakunoda, and Chrollo to heists.
