Why Couldn't I Be Normal?

"I'm starting to feel nervous."

From her seat, Momo turned her head to look at her best friend, which had by now a look of worry on her face. "Oh, Kyoka. We've all been working really hard this entire week. I'm sure it'll pay off," she said enthusiastically.

"Aren't you stressed about the exam, Yaomomo?" Kyoka asked her.

Momo shrugged, "No, not really. I guess I just had so many things to think about recently that I didn't see the exam coming already." She looked back at her boyfriend, whom was asleep with his head resting on her shoulder. She stroked his hair as she continued, "He's not sleeping well lately. He... re-started to have nightmares. So I'm glad he can get a little of sleep now even if it's..." Momo looked up to her classmates to see Bakugo yelling towards Kaminari and Sero, Iida scolding him, Mina and Toru laughing loudly- well, class 1-A being class 1-A. "... noisy. It's a miracle he isn't even woken up by such a din."

Right next to Kyoka stood Ochaco. She looked at Momo as she too spoke, "Is that because of Kamino?" The girl quipped silently. Ever since they had all moved to the dorms, they had never mentioned Kamino because of how uncomfortable it made Y/n. All they knew was what the media had said. But overhaul they remained vague about the specifics, for lack of information.

Except for the night after the battle, even Momo didn't bring back the subject with him. Other than All For One trying and messing with his brain, she only got a mere idea of what the League had done to him. Luckily, torture wasn't on the table. Momo wanted nothing more than dig deeper on it and help him feel better. Y/n never liked speaking of his nightmares, nor his past, nor anything that dwelled on his bad memories. But each time he felt better after telling Momo.

However... she couldn't find the right time. Though they had briefly talked about it the following night as mentioned above, this was definitely not an appropriate time. The next day was spent with their parents and the meeting with the teachers. Then they moved to the dorms, worked the entire week to perfect their ultimate moves and get ready for the exam. And now it was time to see if their efforts would pay off. They weren't exactly the best times to pry open his head to see view the dark parts. For now, she had to be a little more patient. But she could feel it, they would be talking about this and fixing the problem ever so soon.

Waiting to be able to talk about it with him, Momo had approached Kyoka and Ochaco to express her concerns about Y/n. Truth is recently he had been acting...

... differently.

Not towards Momo though and not directly. He was still loving her like he did since the beginning of their relationship, if not more. But he had been staring off into space. A lot. And he wasn't just in idle thought, he seemed to be concentrated on something. But he had simply brushed it off without even realizing it.

Momo sighed to Uraraka's question, "Mainly. At least I think so. It's... complicated. Everything is complicated."

"Luckily, Loverboy has you to make up for that and everything else. I'm certain you're doing plenty of things to help him out, Yaomomo." Momo was oblivious to Kyoka's ulterior motive. After everything that happened to him, she vowed that he would never be left alone again. She would never let him alone. But she hoped it was enough. The feeling of not being able to help him overcome his problems was excruciating and her heart felt like shrinking and shattering into the smallest of the pieces, to the point where they could never be put back together again.

In the back of the bus, Mineta was huddled up on his seat, biting his lower lip as he looked at the girls, 'Why does he get to have his head so close to Momo's boobs.'

The bus suddenly stopped and Mr. Aizawa stood up from his seat at the front, "Alright, class. We're here. Everyone gets out." Momo turned to Y/n who was slowly rousing from sleep on her shoulder.
