Christmas Special

It was nearing Christmas and Misaki and Kaoru were gone for the hoildays.  Our students would be with their familes. Not only that but this was Kakashi and my first Christmas since getting back together. I had planned an eventful day. I brought a good number of presents for the occasion. I was excited for spending the day with Kakashi with no distraction for once. I was so excited. Until a week or so before Christmas eve things happened. I had my head on Kakashi lap. With him stroking my head. His mask was down as it was often while he was home. He was reading his "novel" (which I had been shocked to learn he read in front of the genin. So after much fighting I got him to agree to read in front of me and adults and not underage genin.) He was caressing my hair kissing the crown of my head every so often. Until he suddenly stopped. "Huh? Why did you stop?"

"Uta"

"Yes what is it Kakashi?"

"I have some news that you may not like. So can promise me that you won't go on a murder rampage"

"Sadly Kakashi I can't promise you that"

"Oh well you are going to find out eventually you might as well find it out from it out from me", Kakashi said before letting out a sigh.

"Find out what?"

"Uta I hate to tell you this but I am afraid I have a mission a few days from now. And there is a chance that I might not be back until after Christmas day."

"Are you fricken kidding Minato-sensei actually let you take a job. That might make you miss the our first Christmas together. That you might die before we send our first Christmas together in six years.", I said raging. About to get up when Kakashi pulled me down pinning my hands to the couch.

"Uta this is why I didn't tell you until now. I knew you would react this way. I know you are angry. But I will try to do whatever I can to be home by then."

"Fine but can you promise me you will be home by Christmas eve?"

"No promises guaranteed that I will be home but I will try to be home by then", Kakashi said.

"Fine it's better then nothing", I said with sigh.

"Now I have 50 ways I can make it up to you", Kakashi said before pulling me in for kiss.

"Oooh do you? I am listening"

He pulled me into a a hug wrapping his arms around my neck before kissing the crown of my head. "Number one"

"Okay, what is the rest of it", I asked as I felt myself be pulled back onto the couch. "What the hell are you trying to do Kakashi?"

"Be patient I am working on the rest 50 minus two"

"Oh my be still my beating heart", I said my face going red. "You win Kakashi"

"Are we still going to do it?"

"Yes now shut up and kiss me", I demanded as I got up and pulled him into a kiss. We continued to kiss on the way to our room. And Kakashi spent the rest of the night showing how much he loved me.

*Christmas Eve*

I had been waiting for awhile and it was starting to get late and my worry was growing worse and worse. I had been asking nonstop whether Kakashi had come back. Until Minato-sensei sent me home. Promising he would tell me when Kakashi was back. I tapped my foot and kept looking at the clock it was 11:50 and Kakashi still wasn't home. All I really wanted this Christmas was time with Kakashi. I put on the radio when a song I had started to like came on. I started to sing along with it. With each verse it seemed to calm me down. I was getting close to the part where another person was supposed to sing.

When I looked to see Kakashi standing there. I put my hands to my face trying to make sure I wasn't dreaming. As he continued to sing the verse. I couldn't believe it he was home. I couldn't help but let a big grin let loose. As soon as the song was over I went and wrapped my arms around his body. Pulling him close to me. "Never scare me like that ever again", I told him. Kakashi let out a light chuckle before pulling his mask down. When I noticed he was hold a number of gifts. "Are all of these for me?"

"Who else would they be for", he asked with a grin.

"Kakashi I could careless about the presents all I care is that you are with me"

"So you don't want them guess I will give them away"

"I never said I didn't want them I am just so happy to see you home and alive", I said too stunned for words. Kakashi set the presents down on the table. Before embracing me. I looked to see the clock strike midnight. I looked to see mistletoe above our heads. "You did this didn't you", I asked as Kakashi pulled me into a kiss.

"I am going to take that as a yes", I asked after we parted. Kakashi nodded. "We might as well open gifts while we are up", I suggested before bringing Kakashi his present and him bringing mine. As we spent the time opening gifts exchanging kisses and hugs. I was just happy to be with Kakashi. Afterwards we sent the day together after we slept after opening gifts. I wouldn't change any of it. Not for all the presents in the world. As long as I had Kakashi by my side nothing will hurt me. That is all that matters in the end.
