Chapter 19- Oh Heck No!

Today was the day. The day that decided mine and Ross' future. Today could make or break our relationship. It was the day my parents and siblings were coming back home. Their plane would be arriving at 10 and me and Katrina were going to pick them up. Ross had been begging to come but I decided against it because of everything that could go wrong. We both decided that after my family got settled I would see if him and Ryland could come over. Then we would wing it from there. "Do you see them yet?" Katrina asked eagerly. She had not seen them since the move and was super excited. Me on the other hand, I was a nervous wreck. "No" I said not really paying attention. "Oh I see Chance!!" Katrina says happily making a run for him. I sigh following her and when I finally catch up I see her squeezing the life out of my brother. "Fernanda" Phoenix squeals latching onto my leg. I laugh and pry him off my leg before picking up a jumping Paris. After I hug the twins I go and hug my parents before hugging Chance. "Did the flirt stay away from you?" Chance questions as we drive home. "Umm for the most part." I reply. "Good." Chance says. When we get home everyone goes to unpack their suitcases while me and Katrina sit and wait anxiously. Finally after an hour everyone is done. Now for the question of fate. "Mom, Dad Do you think maybe Ryland and Ross could come over?" I ask nervously. "Yeah I don't see why not." My dad grins. I smile thankfully and quickly text Ross. In the meantime my parents decide that we might have a barbecue later tonight but they are not sure yet. Soon the doorbell rings and Katrina and I jump up and run to the door. Katrina quickly hugs Ryland while I give Ross a smile as he side hugs me. All four of us slowly make our way to the kitchen and as we enter the room falls silent. My mom looks beside me to see Ryland and Katrina holding hands and smiles. "So I guess you two are dating then?" She asks Katrina. "Yeah" Katrina beams. "Anything else new happen while we were gone?" My dad asks. "Rosanda" Ryland coughs earning a glare from Ross and a smack from Katrina. "What was that?" My mom asks. "So mom" I say changing the subject. "You know how you and Dad always say to never judge a book by its cover and to always be open minded." I finish as they nod. "Well while you were gone I kind of figured out I had judged someone before I actually got to know them. I didn't keep an open mind with them but a few months ago I finally gave them a chance." I explain. "Really sweetie." My mom grins. "Yeah as a matter of fact we even started dating." I say confidently as Chance spits out his drink. "Who is it?" My dad asks. "Umm Ross" I reply quietly. "Say that again!" My dad says. I stop frozen in fear and not wanting to repeat myself. "We are dating." I hear Ross say as his hand grabs mine and squeezes it gently. "Oh Heck no!!" Chance yells. "Chance calm down please" My mom begs. "Fernanda cannot be dating him." Chance argues. "Son.. Lets talk" My dad says sternly while dragging Chance out of the kitchen before Chance can say anything else. A few minutes of awkward silence later my dad comes back into the kitchen and leads Ross to the living room. I go wide eyed not knowing what they were going to talk about. "Don't worry" My mom assures "yeah everything will be okay." Katrina chimes in. Soon enough Ross comes back in the room with Chance right behind him both with smiles on their faces. "So" I whisper as Ross comes over to me. "Everything is good Angel. I took care of it don't stress." He smiles as I nod. "Hey why don't we have that family cookout I mentioned earlier and invite the Lynch's to come?" My dad suggests as everyone cheers. "Well then let's get started." My dad smiles
