Some basic info:

Korean. The language spoken in both, the North Korea and South Korea.

I won't go into useless details about both of those countries. But..their interrelationship isn't very well.

Their korean vocabulary and accents are slightly different here and there but we'll be learning the korean from South Korea.

South Korea is located in east - asia. A small but successful country. Plenty of job opportunities and scholarships are available for foreigners.

But the thing is.. a big amount of the people there are not good at english. So we gotta learn some of their language as well.

History:

Korea was formerly a vassal state of China. Chinese alphabets were used to read and write. Since Chinese is quite a complex language, a lot of people were unable to learn it.

In 15th Century, the emperor named Sejong Daewang ordered an easier alphabet system to be made. Some scholars sat together and formed the alphabets.

This new alphabet system is called Hangeul. Its created such that it could be learnt overnight.

Fun fact: Korean has still some chinese words a.k.a hanja.
