To make a sentence negative, we have two ways:
1) adding 안 before the verb
2) adding 지 않다
For example:
안 가다 = to not go
안 매워요 = not spicy
안 했어요 = did not do
안 먹었어요 = didn't ate
Can you guess:
안 먹을 거예요 = ________
안 할 거예요 = ________
But using 지 않다 is slightly more difficult. As you see '않다 = to not' is a verb therefore we need to keep an eye on the tense we use.
Example:
가요
Go
가지 않아요
Don't go
가지 않았어요
Didn't go
Another example:
해요
Do
하지 않아요
Don't do
하지 않았어요
Didn't do
