Examples=

ㅂ(C) →ㅏ(V)
                ↓         = 밥
             ㅂ(V)

밥 means rice. Since the main dish of korean meal is rice (they have lots of side dishes to add flavour), they use the word 밥 as a shortcut to say meal. We can say 밥 주세요= give me food(rice).

ㄱ(C)→ㅏ(V)
                ↓         = 강
             ㅇ(C)

강 means river. In this word, the ㅇ is coming after the vowel so ㅇ sound would be ng.

Quick recap:
When ㅇ comes before a vowel, it is silent.

There is a river passing through the capital city of South Korea. Its name is "Han River". In korean its called 한강.
