A part two to Justice's R. Hope you enjoy it. Same triggers and stuff as last time, go read that if you want to see them.

A note, if you will. If you are feeling depressed and/or suicidal, TELL SOMEONE. Do not be like Justice and pretend to be happy when internally you're dying inside.
I'm not going to pretend I know what you're going through, and I'm literally not qualified to be someone to talk to. But if you need anyone, just ask and I'll try my best.
But seriously, find someone qualified to talk to. If you need it, ask for it. Don't hold it in.

That's all for now. Please remember that you are loved and accepted and special and amazing, and I will always be someone who cares for you, even if we may never meet in real life.

Hope y'all have a wonderful day and/or night, and I'll catch y'all later!

Justice walked up the stairs to the roof of the airship, taking them two at a time. The motions were familiar to him, after so long. He couldn't stop doing this. He couldn't end it either. He was just an empty shell, going through the motions long after his mind had shut down.

He took off his hat, and this time tears formed in the corners of his eyes. He'd promised himself every day he wouldn't put it back on, his badge of shame. He'd promised himself every day this would be the day he ended it.

And he'd broken every one. Never mind that he was doing it to help others. Never mind that it was for the good of everyone else. His promises meant more to him than anything in the world. They were what made him up.

Every time he broke one, he cracked a little more. He was close to shattering now.

Justice saw the inevitable other figure standing on the edge of the airship, but he took a step forward and halted.

That pain in their eyes. It was his pain.

NO!

"I've heard about you." Vengeance's words were sharp, like his, but also cold and fragile. Like ice, ready to break or melt depending on what came next.

"First the others say you're worthless. Someone who sent his Clan into civil war and laughed over it. Someone who doesn't care about any of the rest of us."

The words hurt. Cold, but also strangely warm. They both froze and burned him.

"But you come up here every day. You stop the others, help them, care for them. You're just feeding your own guilt, aren't you? You come up here not for them, but for yourself. Your feelings of self-hatred are stronger than theirs, but you have to suffer through every fool who pretends to know true pain."

Justice started trembling. He couldn't. He couldn't face someone who had the same pain he did.

Vengeance's words became more soft, but still cold. Like snow, or frost. "Everyone gets hurt around me. I try to do what's right, but the scars just keep growing. I just want to stop that. I want it to end."

And Justice was free. Again, the same motions. Grabbing their wrist. His fingers curling around their arm. Grip tightening so they couldn't fall.

And his mouth moving.

"Hey, don't do it. Please."

He realized what he'd said and done. He didn't have the right to stop them, not after what he'd been trying to do. He put his free hand over his mouth, but didn't let go of their wrist.

And for the first time, he couldn't get through to the other.

Vengeance pulled away, and Justice fell to his knees. What could he do? He couldn't stop him! No, no no nononono!

He'd failed.

Tears ran freely down his face, and words fell out of his mouth once more. But this time, they weren't sharp. They were broken, fragile. Shards of glass that shattered on impact.

"Please. Just go away. Your expression is just too much."

Vengeance looked startled. He looked down at him, then smiled sadly.

His next words were like a broken piece of pottery that was put back together. Broken, but usable. "I guess today is just not my day."

Vengeance turned and walked away.

-------------------------------------------------

Justice walked up the stairs up to the airship's roof, this time only taking them one at a time. After his failure with Vengeance he wasn't sure what he would find. He was scared to find out.

Strange. He'd thought he couldn't feel fear anymore. He'd thought he was beyond it.

There was nothing. Nothing, and he found it beautiful. There was no one around to stop him here.

He grinned with delight, and yet oddly tears fell to the ground. Sad while happy. Happy while sad. Odd contradictions, yet somehow they fit.

He took off his hat. This time he would not put it back on. This time he would not go back down, pretending to be someone else, someone who didn't hurt.

Dropping it, he watched the wind rip it away, sending it spiraling through the air until its heavy necklace made it fall to the ground.

He didn't care if it fell all the way to hell. It was no longer his burden to carry.

A top hat. A symbol of so much. Of trust, of honor, of duty and sacrifice. A Toppat leader must be willing to risk everything to protect those in his Clan.

He'd failed his promises. He'd failed the Toppats. He'd failed Ellie. He'd failed everyone.

No more.

This petite girl, short as can be.

Is gonna jump now and be free.

Justice stepped off the airship.

"WAIT!"
