There was nothing more frustrating than talking to a total stranger about something you barely have any knowledge onㅡ let alone cared much to even try and understand.
Yuji Itadori wasn't the least interested with the current topic at hand that the urchin-haired boy, namely 'Megumi Fushiguro from Jujutsu High' as he earlier introduced himself, was talking about... but it would be extremely rude of the mourning boy's part to ignore him, so decided to just put up with it and listened to the 'nonsense horror-fantasy' the seemingly easily irritated oddly dressed boy was spewing out of his mouth that seemed to be in a permanent frown.
Well... it wasn't really as much of a 'nonsense' or 'fantasy'. After all, the modern world was just already full of thatㅡ from supernatural abilities normally called 'quirks' to just straight up and basic unecessarily impudent and ill-bred people in the corrupted society. And while 'supernatural' was the new 'nomal', the topic at hand still didn't make much sense to Yuji.
"The number of unidentified deaths and missing persons in Japan exceeds 10,000 anually... most of them were caused by 'curses'." Fushiguro tried to explain, ignoring the bored expression on the pink haired teenager's face as he continued to just simply scroll on his phone through news article after news articleㅡ all of which him and a secret organization that works behind the scenes had been keeping tabs on.
"Believe it or not, this is the truth. It's easy to gather resentment in schools and hospitals... pain, regretment, shame.. Humanit's negative emotions are the source and main reason of the existence of curses." He further spoke, "That's why many schools keep secret 'exorcism' curses... the one you got is also one of them."
An item that was in an instrument shelter outside but within the campus of Yuji's school was what the stoic-like boy was asking forㅡ it was a special grade cursed object apparently; an oval-like object wrapped and covered in old, almost worn out talisman inside a box. For whatever reason, Fushiguro was tasked to retrieve itㅡ which sparked Yuji's confusion.
Boredly raising his hand with the other supporting his cheek, he asked, "Since it's an 'exorcism', isn't it a good thing?"
"Let me finish." Fushiguro frowned. "Keep the evil cursed object so that no other curse can come near. It's highly poisonous. Demon exorcism is nothing but a vice. It's seal loosened year by year, and now it's a bait to invoke curses and make it grow..." He narrowed his eyes and nearly glared at the semi-interested teen, "The one you've got is classified as a 'super' hazardous material. Hand it over before you make a fuss."
This 'cursed object' didn't really seem too much of a serious situation to Yuji... it just seems overexagerrated and a 'scam' on his point of viewㅡ after all, there were no such things as crazy as what Fushiguro had just told to him. Sure, supernatural exists now, but that doesn't mean there weren't any limits or lines to draw.
