"Do you know why the moon is split in half?"
The mixture of expressions shown between the girl's faces were similar, yet deeply different. Upon hearing the eerie news over the intercoms, reacting to such death, Solbi and Minji didn't know how to react.
Of course Minji couldn't react, because she had slept through the announcement. A cold pack laid against her forehead, as she rested from the horrible fight. Both the fight of the A-Games, but also from the attack.
But Solbi was awake. She heard everything, the pressure she applied to the cold pack had faltered. All things did.
"Momo...is dead..?" she whispered to herself.
At first it didn't completely resonate, as she felt the blood evaporating from her hands. Not literally.
Because Momo...was apart of everything. Everything that had happened a year ago on that exact day. The tragedy only few truly could remember, because Momo made sure of that.
Solbi could still feel the fire at her fingertips, and could still hear the voices and screams from within the uproar—the chaos and pure accident.
The one person who had erased it from everyone else's minds, was gone. As well as the person she had worked with on their secret assignment.
It was as if everything had gone silent, and cold bubbles filled the air which littered goosebumps all over her skin. She couldn't even feel her own heart thumping through her chest.
Solbi stood up from the floor, where she had sat on her knees against Minji's bed to care for her. The younger was in a deep enough sleep to where she wouldn't have woken up.
Solbi turned toward the window in the middle of the room, shining down golden rays of sunset and exposed small particles of dust floating through the air. Walking toward it, the feeling of the sun against her skin never felt colder.
And from how close the sun was to hitting it's horizon, Solbi could see the moon on the other side. The moon, split down the middle.
"Why?" Little Solbi asked her adoptive father, as the two sat on the beach together. Jungkook played around in the shallow end of the shore.
"Long ago, there was a being who escaped the garden of eden," Master P.D begun, tracing the image into the sand for her to see. He drew a figure that resembled a person, only with large horns leaving it's head. "This being lived for many years, never aging physically. It had many children, saved many lives...but never found its true meaning."
"What does this have to do with the moon?" Solbi asked before Master P.D hushed her. "Patience, Solbi."
Solbi pouted.
"One day, thousands of years ago, this being had become tired of living. Unfortunately, the being was unable to do anything, because he was immortal and indestructible. He would never know the true feeling of pain—on the outside," Master P.D continued to draw into the sand. "But on the inside, he was very familiar."
"So what did he do...?" Solbi curiously asked. "What happened?"
Master P.D cleared the sand, drawing something new. Starting with a large circle, and then creating holes inside of it. "The being discovered a new form of curiosity. After aging even before the moon had been born, it's beauty captivated him. He wanted to marry it."
Solbi let out a laugh, "that's silly! You can't do that—you can't!"
"It is not silly," Master P.D argued as Jungkook emerged from the water, shaking his wet hair around causing them to get wet.
