Cas stared at the ceiling for a couple of minutes, but he couldn’t come up with anything. The only way these creatures could be killed is by slicing their throats. How could he possibly even get that close to them? He thought. “hey Cassie.” A voice said next to him. Cas jumped surprised to the right. “oh, Jesus! Balthasar! Don’t ever do that again. It creeps me out!” Cas said with a sneering voice. Balthasar laughed and stood there as if he hadn’t even noticed the situation they were in. “well Cassie, I’m here to help you but if you don’t want my help it’s fine.” He said. “no, wait.” Cas said. “I could actually use your help this time. Do you know how to save Dean and Sam? They are down there,” Cas said while pointing his finger in Dean’s and Sam’s direction, “and I have no idea how we are going to get them out of there.” He said. “but brother, you don’t have to kill all of those creatures…” Balthasar said. “you can also distract them. Our first priority is to get them out of there.” He said. Cas frowned while thinking about the idea. “you are right, but wait, what? You were coming to HELP us? I know you, you wouldn’t just help me out of good will! What do you want in return? I don’t want any afterward-surprises.” Cas said. Balthasar sighed. “okay, you got me. A few angels are after me and I want you to keep me safe for a couple of days, so I can figure out where to go.” “okay, just this once. You do realise that you won’t be safe while staying with Dean, Sam and me right?” Cas said. “no I don’t, but here is the last place they expect me to be, so they won’t look for me here.” “who are after you?” Cas asked. “it’s better not to know.” Balthasar said. Castiel felt an alarm going off in his head, but he pushed it aside. “okay, one of us has to distract these creatures, and one of us has to free Dean and Sam. ”Balthasar said. “who is going to distract them?” Cas asked. “we are going to solve this by the laws of adult humans.” Balthasar said. Cas had a questioning look on his face. “rock, paper, scissors.” Balthasar said. Cas sighed and folded his hand into a fist. “on three.” He said. “one….two….three!” Cas looked at Balthasar’s hand, which was still folded into a fist. Then he looked at his own hand. Scissors. He cursed at Balthasar, who gave him an amused look, and went down the stairs again and just pulled open the door, faked a scream and started running into the hall, away from the room. He is stupid. Dean thought. He knew Cas couldn’t do this alone. His is barely a hunter. He cursed and looked at Sam, who had a hopeless expression on his face. “we’re doomed.” He said to Dean. Dean smirked. “yeah, tell me about it.” He said. Then he felt something sharp cutting off the ropes on his wrists. He looked back and saw Balthasar. “shhh. Don’t thank me yet.” He whispered while moving on to Sam. In the meantime Cas was still running with about fifty Arachnesses behind his back, and some of them were incredibly fast. Then he zapped away. Balthasar zapped Dean and Sam away, and there they were again. In the motel room where this all started. “damn it! We should have killed them!” Dean cursed. “hey easy there okay?” Balthasar said. “I know we should have killed them, but we would be dead by now if we even tried.” “okay, but I know more. There is something big coming. I couldn’t hear it all, but something is moving down there, and I’m not talking about only Arachnes.” Sam said. “they were talking something called ‘master’.” He said. That’s why they were with so many. They are waiting for something or someone to take over. Damn, we’re not the only ones in danger here. It’s the whole country, who knows, maybe even bigger.” Sam said. “okay, do you know how we can kill fifty Arachnes without getting ourselves killed?” Dean asked. “no, not yet, but maybe we can find something out?” Sam asked. “okay, it’s time for bed now boys.” Balthasar said. “yeah, Balthasar, what are you actually still doing here?” Dean asked with suspicion. “ehm… I kind of made a deal with him. He would help me if he could stay here for a few days…..” Cas said nervous. “no, no, no, that’s not going to happen! I don’t want him here!” “ah, but please, Dean. I promised him. I don’t like breaking my promises.” Cas said with puppy eyes. Dean melted a bit inside. How could he possibly say no to those big, blue eyes? “okay, Cas.” Dean grumbled. “but he sleeps on the couch!” Dean said. “where am I going to sleep then?” Cas asked. Dean hadn’t thought about that yet. “ehm, you can lay in my bed.” He said. “all fine by me! If I can sleep in my own bed I’m fine!” Sam said, happy not having to share his bed. “okay, Cas said.” “can we actually sleep?” Balthasar aksed. “yeah, we can, but we don’t have to. It’s actually quite nice. You’re away for a little while and you have no worries.” Cas said. “sounds good to me!” Balthasar said, while laying down on the couch. He was gone in no time. Dean laid down and pulled the blanket over his shoulders. Cas laid down beside him on top of the covers. Then he fell asleep, just as easily as the rest of them. Cas woke up in the middle of the night with sweat running down his forehead. Dreaming wasn’t that fun after all. He thought. He had had a nightmare. “Dean, Dean!” he whispered. “hmmmm…” he heard Dean mumbling from under the blankets. Cass hoke Dean a little and Dean woke up. “what?” he asked. “I had a terrible little movie playing off in my mind. It was scary as hell!” Cas said. “that’s a nightmare, Cas. Us people, we dream. A dream is one of those little movies playing. It’s in your head. Most of the movies are nice, but something the movie turns scary, that’s called a nightmare.” Dean said. “okay, but I don’t dare sleeping again.” Cas said. Dean sighed. “maybe you should lay under the blankets and not on top of them.” Dean said. “it’s warmer under there.” Cas did as Dean told him. It’s actually felt nice and warm. He curled up into a ball and closed his eyes again. It took a while to fall asleep again, but eventually he felt sleep taking over. Dean watched him turn and twist for a little while with a smile on his face. Then he turned around and tried to sleep again. When he woke up the next morning he was the first. He turned around and heard Cas snoring. He laughed and laid his head down again. Sun wasn’t up yet and he had a few hours left before the others would wake up, so he decided to go sleep again. Just when he began to feel drowsy he felt Cas turning and suddenly he felt his breath in his face. He opened his eyes and saw Cas’ closed eyes very nearby, but Dean was too tired to pay attention to it and felt back asleep. ‘Click’! Dean woke up to a clicking sound. He opened his eyes and saw Sam standing with his phone taking a picture of him. Sam had an big, evil smile on his face. “what?” Dean asked him. Then he turned to Cas. Then saw that he had draped his arm over him, and their foreheads were almost touching. Dean moved back a little, but not too far. He felt good when Cas was around. The months he had been gone went by terribly slowly and he had missed Cas. Of course he didn’t let anyone know. He grumbled a bit. “that looks sooooo cute!” Sam said in a baby like voice. Dean felt annoyed by it. He pulled Cas closer, only to surprise Sam, and closed his eyes again. He heard Sam walking away and heard him talking to Balthasar. Then he heard two pair of footsteps coming back and Dean let Cas go and rolled over to the other side of the bed. “look! They are cuddling!” Sam said excitedly to Balthasar, who pulled up one eyebrow. “I don’t see it Sam! Dean is on the other side of the bed.” He walked away and let a defeated Sam behind. Dean hers Sam grumbling something and then he also went away. Cas woke up and sat up straight, having no clue of what just had happened. Dean also sat up straight and walked into the kitchen. He grabbed some toast and a glass of water and began eating his breakfast. It was a good thing angels don’t have to eat, because otherwise there wouldn’t have been enough food. “morning Dean.” Cas mumbled. “mownin Caspffh.” Dean said with his mouth full. Cas looked at him and gave him a smile. Dean instantly smiled back. “so, about that night at the bar….. do you remember?” Cas asked Dean.
