In 2093 crime rates in America were at 93% and showed no signs of lowering, so Congress decided that the laws had to be started over, and needed a new name—The Society. Every year, all sixteen-year-olds would be given an assigned job, a small apartment, and would be given an independent life. At eighteen, you are aloud to love, and get married. Young love and heartbreak was believed to be the number one reason of violence. If you were caught having a relationship with anyone you would be punished immediately. The Society knows everything, including your exact death time, and how you die—even if it hasn't happened yet, and won't happen for many years. They know your every move and every breath. The year is now 2173 and sixteen-year-old Jessamine Cicely is about to start her life as an adult. She thinks that her life in The Society is perfect until she discovers some of its darkest secrets and how it was before. Science Fiction #108 copyright © 2014 odairsthecake
